Carry-on Size

Anyone know how big or how much weight a carryon can be? We are flying with two different airlines ( Airtran & Us Airways) so not sure if all is the same?
Also DS (12 months) doesnt have a seat, hes a lap passanger, can he still be allowed a carryon? Just trying to figure out if his suitcase can be a carryon, so we wouldnt have to ck it & pay for it.

Carry on requirements vary with different airlines, so you'll need to check their websites. Each ticketed passenger is allowed 1 carry on bag and 1 personal item (purse, briefcase, normal size backpack, etc.) Since your son won't have a ticket, he will not be allowed a carry on.
