I tried the search function but couldn't get a hit so even though am sure this has been asked before can anyone tell me the maximium size a carry-on bag can be for the cruise? I found a perfect 25" which would hold all mine and my DH carryon plus my laptop/camera gear and need to know if this will be an okay size?

Thanks as always

As long as it will fit through a standard airport scanner (which is what they use when you board the ship), you should be fine.

It just has to fit thru the scanner, which is the same size as those at the airports. That will be perfect!

as mentioned ... the only size restriction (at the port) is to fit through the scanner (if you are flying, you have to deal with the airline restrictions).

Having said that, a 25 inch bag may be a bit large to maneuver around the ship. You may find it easier to maneuver two smaller bags (or even a backpack) -- I don't think there is any restriction on the number of carryon bags you can bring to the port.

If you are close to an airport they have a thing at the check in lines as you first enter the airport where you can measure the bag to make sure it will fit, but if I remember right its a 21 or 22" max

Most true "carry-on" size bags are 21" - 22" h x 9" d x 14" w. If you're flying you would have to check a 25" bag. I would guess if DCL is handling your luggage from the airport a 25" size would fall into the checked luggage category.

Thanks everyone. As I thought the bag I want will be too big.. Back to shopping around.

Thanks again

Renysmom - I noticed your avatar is for WVU ('cuz I'm orig. from WV) and your location says VA - but doesn't say where you are exactly so I don't know if you're in Northern VA or not - I'm across the river in Montgomery Co., MD. We have both a TJ Maxx and a Burlington Coat Factory...both usually have a big selection of luggage CHEAP!! I recently bought 2 really nice "spinner" bags at Burlington (the ones with 4 wheels - got a 22" carry-on and a 26" that have 20 yr warranties) for $100!! The carry-on was only $40 I think! I also bought a 30" wheeled duffle for $50 at TJ Maxx - same exact one was $99 @ both Ebags.com and Luggagepros.com (they usually have pretty low prices)! I just wanted to suggest that if you have either of these stores near you that you look there for a bargain!! :thumbsup2 Their merchandise changes frequently tho - you never know what you'll find - so I check them often and if I see something I want & there's only one I usually go ahead & grab it figuring I can return it later if I change my mind.:thumbsup2

Annie -

Thanks for the suggestions, we aren't in NVA anymore, we are now in Richmond but we have both of those stores here so I will check out both. I wouldn't have thought of either so again thanks for the suggestions.
