Looking for tips for the clear 1 qt bag of toiletries. I have looked at the TSA site. Can you have Chapstick, cover up tubs and stick anti-perspirant outside of the clear bag, or do they need to fit also? Can you have 2 3oz sizes of the same item (like 2 sunblocks)? How about Omega 3 capsules (not in the huge container)? Thanks!

I'm leaving in 20 days & what I'm going to do is just take my necessities like my makeup in a quart bag. I am going to bring the other stuff in my suitcase. I don't have a problem with being safe but on the other hand, it seems like overkill. Maybe it's my frustration with Homeland Security, but thats a different subject.

anything that is a liquid consistancy (lip gloss, mascara, foundation, toothpaste, shampoo, etc...) has to be in a clear quart sized bag. It doesn't matter if you have multiples of something but only 1 quart bag per passenger is allowed.

The three you mention need to be in the bag, as far as I know.

As for the supplement question, you might want to post that on the Transportation board! Good question!

Chap sticks (not glosses) and solid deodorants (not gels) do not need to be in the quart bag. The TSA site is pretty clear on that. And yes, you can put ten sample sizes of sun screen in the bag, but you only get one bag.

All medications are allowed and they don't have to fit in a quart bag, but you should have them in a bag for ease of showing it to TSA. They may be particularly interested if they are larger than 3oz, but theyare still allowed on board. Anything like an inhaler or eye drops should be out of your luggage, in a bag seperate for them to see.

I still pack the chap sticks in the quart bag. I know that the TSA site is clear on that, but unfortunately some workers at the airport are not exactly aware of the rules. I had one TSA worker getting very annoyed when she "caught" me with my un-allowed chap stick outside of the bag last year.
