Pre-covid let’s just say the port was pretty chill about the carry on alcohol limits for beer and wine. Has anyone tested the limits on recent cruises? Trying to set my expectations. 😂 Thanks.

Where did you see they were "chill" about the requirements pre-covid? It was my impression they were pretty firm about it.

Personal experience. Never had an issue.
Hmm, every time we have carried on alcohol (wine) they have taken a good look. Are you putting the bottles in your checked luggage? Maybe this was more a function of the San Diego port. We never carried alcohol on-board when we sailed out of FL.

We always sail out of PC. I’ve heard not as friendly out of other ports. Always in carry on by the rules.

When I carried on at ports I had to check it in the past. They let me carry on wine but not liquor. They definitely look at PC. I wrapped up my beer bottles individually with target bags to protect them and it definitely stood out to them :) Next time I bought the wine bags from amazon and they didn't seem as stumped by those. My husband said that my target bags with the ziplock bags made it look like and illegal substance.

I carry on in a rolling backpack. While I never knowingly exceed the limit, my bag has never been checked other than the X-ray scan. Though I vaguely remember once my husband packed a bakers dozen of beer (2 adults), but no one noticed.

The most recent cruise that we went on was in the summer of 2013 on the Fantasy. They allowed us to carry full bottles of liquor on board and even gave us a pass for shifting some of our allocation to one of the children (she was 17). When we asked them to stock the pantry, they couldn't do the alcohol part, so they told us to just carry it onboard. Have they changed the rules since 2013?

Since then they have stopped allowing full liquor onboard and there is now just a 2 bottle of wine or 6 bottles of beer policy. I think it was around 2015 possibly. Its been a few years
