My three year old daughter and I are making our first trip to Disney in early May. I understand that the CBR is large. Anyone have any tips for what part of the resort I should ask to stay in? I know my daughter will like the pool and the beach...and if there is somewhere on the resort that we can see fireworks, or another night time 'sky' show, that would be great too.

I always request Jamaica 44 or 45.

It's an easy walk across the island-bridge to the main pool and food court building (Port Royale) but is not a 'preferred' room location. There is a quiet pool in Jamaica too, as well as a bunch of beachfront.

The main reason I like iJamaica the best is because of the way the buses run through this resort - it is almost always the first stop for buses entering the resort from outside, so you are first on the buses when leaving for the parks and (even better) first off the buses when coming home at the end of the night.

There isn't really much viewing for nighttime shows from CBR, you can sometimes catch bits of Illuminations but mostly it just looks like lights flashing in the night sky beyond the horizon.

I would suggest taking a look at the CBR FAQ thread. Lots of information on the resort. You will love it at CBR.

Link is in my signature.

We love CBR! :lovestruc Be sure to take a break from the parks and spend some down time at the resort. The grounds are beautiful, the atmosphere is very pleasant and tropical, the CM's are very friendly, the rooms are great, there are 3 playgrounds right on the beaches, and the new pools are fantastic!

We have been able to see IllumiNations from Jamaica, Aruba, the Jamaica beach, the bridge to OPR, and at OPR. :goodvibes

There is lots of CBR info and pics in my review ~ http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2074555

Enjoy your vacation! :cool1:

We just got back from an 11 day stay at CB this Sunday. We enjoyed the resort very much. We requested the Martinque building (preferred room) and worth every single penny. Instead of using the Martinque bus stop we did use the Old Port Royale bus stop because it was actually closer to us. We did view the fireworks from Martinque beach several times and it was clearly visible. Martinque is close to the main pool, food courts etc...prime location. I believe the other side of Old Port Royale is another good location (preferred too). I can not recall the name now, but you can see on the map what it is.

Enjoy your vacation!!!

Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a great stay at CBR! Hope you will be doing a review with lots of pictures! :goodvibes

Request a room closer to the foodcourt area. I stayed so far away, it was a hike.

I stayed in Jamaica 45 in October. It was just me and my daughter, and I explained to the front desk (also called several times before our trip to request this location) that I was travelling alone with my daughter and felt comfortable there. It's nice and close to the bridge that goes over to all the action. It's still a little hike, but nothing at all compared to what the distance is from other buildings!

You'll like CBR, it's beautiful!

We just stayed in Jamacia last month and we loved it. One of the main benefits is the fact that there is a playground on the beach in Jamacia, which was great for our son. Plus it was a short 5 minute walk to the pool and food hall.

NewMom66 can you tell me how CBR compared to POP? We are going in Aug staying at CBR. Originally we had picked POP, but I read so many great things about CBR I decided to upgrade. However my DS (11) is still bugging me about POP. I would appreciate your thoughts since you recently went to both (2008 & 2009). Thanks.:wizard:
