Okay, I'm not 100% sure if this is the correct board to post this, so if it's not, I know it will get moved to the appropriate one thanks to the moderators.

In any case, we're headed back for Christmas and I'm thinking of a carriage ride...we have 3 options... :confused3

1. Holiday sleigh ride (carriage) at WL
2. Carriage ride at Fort Wilderness
3. Carriage ride around Port Orleans

I'd like to combine it around a meal if possible, so it looks like my choice for that would be

1. WL and WCC or Artist's Point (is that the right name?) We did WCC on the most recent trip and had a blast, but I'm trying to get to as many different restaurants we can.
2. Trails End Buffet, HoopDeeDo (done that one a couple years ago and liked it)
3. Since the carriage picks up right at Boatwrights, that would be an option at PO.

So, my questions are

1. Anyone done any of the carriage rides? Which? How was it? Give me the scoop.
2. How about those eateries? Any better than the other...I love hearing eveyone's opinions.
3. Has anyone done a meal then the carriage ride? How did it go?

Thanks so much!

I've been wondering about the sleigh ride myself. We're having dinner at Artist Point one night and are considering this.

Hoping someone can shed some light on this for both of us....

We ate dinner at WC and then went on the carriage ride last December. It was kind of a let down. The driver really said almost nothing the whole time. I would rather pay more $ and get hot chocolate or something. Not alot to see either. Heard on this board that others felt it was a let down too. It was a new experience:) but no one in my house wants to do it again.....so sad:(

We've not taken the carriage ride at Port Orleans but have witnessed quite a few. We keep saying we need to book one of these since it is such a beautiful resort and the carriage ride just looks so peaceful and a perfect way to spend the holiday. We ate at Boatwrights last vacation and LOVED it. We had the BEST meal of our trip while we were there (and it was COMPLETELY unplanned). I hope whatever decision you make you're not disappointed!

Thanks! I haven't completely decided either way...still have a few months to book a carriage ride. I'm just thinking it might be nice for the holiday to do something different...DH is open to the idea, but haven't discussed it with DS (13)...if it's a lazy activity I think he'll bite...he's a funny teenager...totally into relaxing on vacation instead of gotta ride everything.

Thanks again!
