My wife and I are going to the world in a couple of weeks for our anniversary and i'm looking for a couple of extra little things to do we haven't done before. Can anyone tell me about the carriage ride at POR? Is it romantic? Can you really bring your own champagne? Is it worth it? Anything you can tell me would help. Thanks all!

Yes it can be romantic or it can just be fun, the drivers will handle that however you want. It's a beautiful ride that lasts about 20-25 minutes from Port Orleans Riverside up to part of French Quarter and back again.

When we last did it last two years ago it was $35 plus tip which I though was alot but I believe it is even more now.

We used to do these regularly but to me the price has gotten too high. Maybe as a one time treat it is still worth it.

We went on a carriage ride on our honeymoon in 2005 and we really enjoyed it! I'm not sure about the champagne. I think it is definitely worth it and would love to do it again. It is really beautiful and a good quality time to be together away from the hustle and bustle. That would be a nice surprise for your anniversary. I'm sure you both would love it!

We enjoy the carriage ride and the price has not changed, it seemed more romantic when it is dark outside with the lights of the 2 resorts. Yes you can bring your own drinks and I would suggest doing it, it makes it that much more special. Here some info for you.
