Carousel of Progress

We will be in WDW next week and I am wondering if Carousel of Progress is presently open. Last year we were there at the same time and it had closed. The Disney website says it is open "seasonally" - not sure what that means. I understand it is going to close permanently and really want to see it again - saw it at the 1964 New York World's Fair and loved it. Anyone been there recently?

We were there for 5 days starting July 23.
COP was open and so was Timekeeper.

I believe it is supposed to remain open until the completion of Stitch's Great Escape. I hope so anyway!

YUP! COP was opened all last week. It's my all time favorite!!!! I don't know anything about it closing permanently...I won't be able to handle that news! I remember it too from the '64 Worlds fair and the vivid happy memories of that time just flood my memory banks.

I also read somewhere that it will remain open until the new Stitch ride opens. This is great because I will be at MK this coming Thursday. I'm going to Florida for a couple of days with my girlfriend and her parents before we all leave from Port Canaveral on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. I love CoP and I didn't get to go on it in 2002 when I was at WDW. I would like at least one more chance to ride it, just in case it does close permanantly.

So it will be open for a few more months - but i wonder what Rehab and facelift mean for sure - i know they've changed the show before to keep up with the time - i wonder if the are doing it again???

And oh yes i have a COP Pin - you can find them on E-bay - I've never seen one being sold at a WDW store however.

Funny, exactly what they said about 20K, and Horizons and World of Motion....that phrase often means the end of an attraction. I think it was really well recieved since the closing of Stitch so keep your fingers crossed...it may have a second life. I certainly hope so but I'm not banking on it.

i love the COP saw it again in july. it would be such a shame if they closed it. this was designed by walt disney himself for the worlds fair.i think my kids found it to be really boring but my DH and i really enjoy it.

COP is one of our favorites...even the DK's (8 and 14)...though they think it's kinda lame.

We saw it this July - a few times to get out of the heat...and it got 'stuck' so we saw the same scene 3 times before moving on to the next. The crowd had the narration memorized after the 2nd 'repeat' and we were all 'acting out' the 3rd repeat.

It was hoot for everyone in there...and a memory we chuckle about. COP will be a must see for us each trip. Hope it doesn't go away forever!
