I heard somewhere that Carousel of Progress was closed. We are going to be at WDW Feb.22-26. I looked foward to this show more than any other because I remember it as a little girl back in the 70's. I so wanted to take my 3 little girls to the attraction that I can remember had me mesmerised (sp) from start to finish. I really hope it will be open when we are there. Anyone know anything?
Thanks!:D

We just came back from Disney last weekend and the COP was running. It's been a long time since I was on that ride and it is definately showing its age. It was very musty and dirty in the ride but it was still nice to see some of the old timey rides.

From what I have read, even though the offical Disney site says "open seasonally," CoP is supposed to be open all the time at least until Alien Enounter gets it refurbishment turning into a Stitch themed ride ready.

It was open over Christmas when we were there.

I have never been when CoP was open, but it appears it will be when we are there in March. Could someone describe this attraction for me? I am trying to decide if it is worth a look.

Also, this goes in the category of minuteae, but does the TTA spiel change to mention CoP when it is open?

Just back and am happy to report COP was open. I do agree that the ride was dusty/musty inside, but it was great to see it again! Actually, I was kind of surprised at the number of people sitting in the theater with us. More people were on it than I anticipated!

"It's a great big beautiful tomorrow . . ."

We just rode COP about 2 weeks ago and it wasn't musty OR dusty. Lots of fun. It opens a little later in the AM and closes earlier in the afternoon, maybe 5. Check your schedule when you arrive.

Zippa D Doodah - Here's the Passporter description, "See the march of modern technology through the eyes of an American family. Each of the four scenes in this Audio-Animatronics show highlihgts another 20 years (or so) of progress in the 20th century. When the scene changes, the entire theater moves around to the next stage."

I was there a few weeks back and it was definatly open and spinning. If you've never seen it, I highly recogmend you see it now before the open up Stitch and CoP turns back into a much more seasonal attraction. It's cute and a little corny (you can tell that it use to be a GE commercial in a lot of spots :p ), but it's a fin Disney classic that's worth seeing at least once in your life.
