Does anyone know if carnosaurus ( the main red dinosaur at "dinosaur' the ride at Epcot) has an actual name?

I'm not sure, but unless he's migrated, he's over at Animal Kingdom. ;)

There is a carnosaurus in Ellen's Energy Adventure, but I don't believe any of those dinos have names. There is also one at the Dinosaur attraction at Animal Kingdom, but again, I don't believe they named it.

Nope, he has no name. He's just called Carnosaurus. He also makes appearences as a character at Dinoland as well as being in the ride. His girlfriend also appears there and actually does have a name: Connie-Saurus.

It's at Animal Kingdom and isn't "his" name Sue?
I'm lost.. I never could find "Sue" that was listed as an "attraction" in the guide for that park. LOL

Sue is the dino bones that are at the entrance to Dino-land. She is a replica of the real "Sue."

Oh, it was my mistake! Dinosaur is at AK. Thanks for all the replies.

"Sue" is a T-rex. :)

I have never seen a reference to a name of the Carnotaurus.

I am not sure about the names of the dino-characters that walk through Dinoland, but just to clarify...

The "bad guy" dinosaur on the Dinosaur ride, and the fossil cast in the queue of that attraction is a Disney-creationa called Carnotaurus. It's essentially a T-Rex with horns.

Dino-Sue is a cast of a real T-Rex fossil that is located near the entrance of the Dinosaur ride courtyard (not the entrance to the actual land, that's some sort of a Sauropod).

The dinosaurs in Ellen's Energy Adventure are based on real specimen, so there is no Carnotaurus on there as far as I know.

In the "Dinosaur" movie, I thought they called him "Carnataur"... I just figured that was his name ---- Carnataur the Carnosaurus.

Guess I'll have to watch the movie and read the credits.

In the movie, they are called Carnotaurs. On the ride, it is called Carnotaurus. The plaque at the base of the skeleton in "the lobby" claims that the name is Latin for "Meat-eating Bull"... The species is fictional.

On a side note, "Carnosaurus" is a B-movie that was released Direct to Video in the mid-90s. Roger Ebert loved it. There is no connection between that production and Disney (unless you count Ebert, whose show is produced by Buena Vista TV...)

Just for the record...Carnotaurus was an actual carnivore whose first fossils were found in Argentina in 1985.

I stand corrected - it is indeed a real species.
