My family and I are planning a summer trip BACK to DW. We are interested in Caribbean or Riverside which would you perfer and WHY???

POR! Boat to DTD, you can go over to POFQ and eat, swim and shop there, family entertainment with Yehaa Bob, great food court and it is currently going through a total refurb of all their rooms and getting QUEEN beds, flat screen TVs, furniture the works:)

POR since it is a smaller resort, and also reasons already said. Boat ride to DTD is nice. But if I were ever to stay at CBR it would be in summer- the beaches, etc just seem like it would be great for warmer weather. A lot would depend on who travels with you (younger kids, seniors, etc)- the size of the resort would be a factor for me (especially if you do not have a rental car).

CBR for the Caribbean feel, music, landscaping, beaches with hammocks to relax, the main pool area is awesome with water slides and hot tubs. The fact that it is large actually makes us like it even more b/c you dont feel so crowded in a smaller resort. Each island has its own pool and laundry area, the rooms have always been clean and kept clean during our stays. Bus transportation is good, never any long waits on any of our visits. Food court is average, have eaten breakfast and lunches there before. :thumbsup2

POR - smaller, newly refurbished, queen beds, boat to DTD. CBR is in need of a refurb and the double beds are a deal breaker for us.

Out of the two, we've only stayed at CBR. We loved everything about the resort and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again :). The Caribbean theme/atmosphere is beautiful, the pool is alot of fun (and it's been redone since our stay), and the food court has plenty of variety for everyone. Also, the bus transportation is the best, IMO, out of all of the resorts we've stayed at. CBR is centrally located that it doesn't take more than 10-15 minutes to get to any theme park, water park, or DTD :thumbsup2. With all of that said, I have read many great things about POR and I really don't think you can go wrong with either one. I would choose the one that the theme appeals to you the most. Good luck and happy planning :wizard:.

Having stayed at both, you can't go "wrong" with either of them. Having said that, our preference is CBR for the same reasons previous posters have stated. Our family just loves the tropical theme and the main pool is fantastic.

We have stayed at both and absolutely prefer POR!! The boat ride to downtown Disney, love the mansions and the peaceful ambiance and one of the best food courts.

CBR We have stayed at both. Love the feel of CBR. Love the pool and the quiet pools. Love the food court and gift shop, and bar area. Love the court yards.

We wanted to stay at POR but it was not available for our June dates (6/7-6/14). We are staying at CBR! We are excited! We stayed there in June 2007 when our DS was 6 yrs old. He is now 11 yrs old. He doesn't quite remember the resort. I showed him current photos & the pool looks very cool. I am sure we will have a great time:cloud9:

POR! Been there twice, will go back.
CBR - been once, won't go back.

The POR food court and store are nicer. I agree that CBR needs a refurb.
