Any suggestions on which area to request a room assignment at the Caribbean Beach report? My first instinct would be for a water view, what do you think?

Did you reserve a regular room or preferred room? More details on your reservation would help in suggesting an area.

For a regular room, I'd Jamaica or Aruba. Trinidad South are the Pirate Rooms, and Trinidad North and Martinique are the "Preferred" room (all generally speaking). If you wanted to put in a building, I'd do Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51.

I would request Jamaica or Aruba close to the bridge or Martinque. There are some regular standard rooms in the farthest Martinque building

If you have a standard room booked, then you'd need to upgrade to a water/pool view room in order to receive a view of the water. It's a bookable category so it will be more per night. IMO, its easiest to request a specific section so you have the location that suits you best. At CBR, Aruba 51 or Jamaica 45 are my requests. We had Jamaica 46 last time which was fine as well.

We were in Jamaica, can't remember the building but it was one closet to the water although we were on the courtyard side. Easy walk to everything. I wouldn't spend any extra for a water view, the buildings have outside hallways (kind of like a motel) so most people aren't going to be looking at the view since people can be walking by their window. There are plenty of places at the resort to sit and relax, loads of little hidey holes and a beach at every village with hammocks. I got up every morning and walked around the entire lake and to all the villages and the entire walk (at a fairly fast pace since I was exercising) didn't take me longer than 20 minutes, as a matter of fact I had to slow down a few times just to get the 20 minutes in.

I wouldn't bother requesting a water view. All the widows face a walkway, so it's not like you can open your curtains and enjoy it. We had one on our last stay there, and the "view" was a stretch, and we never viewed it anyway.

I never request a view in a moderate. The corridors are exterior corridors, so you can't really enjoy a view from your room. If I stay at CBR I do request a preferred building. It is worth the extra money , IMO. I like Martinique.

No point paying extra for water view. The window looks at the walkway only. You won't want to keep it open for everyone to see inside the room as they walk pass.

We spent the extra money to get a preferred room. It is within 3 minute walk to Old Port Royale (Food court and shop). It is very convenient.
But.....the transport system is inconsistent and has to stop at the different villages before heading to parks. Lots of time wasted there.
For us, we won't stay there again. For moderates, we would repeat POFQ, but won't return to CBR.

Excellent choice! CBR is our favorite Moderate, you're going to love it. Every village has its own bus stop so you are never far from one. Our 2 favorite locations are Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51. Rooms in these 2 locations are only about a 3-4 minute stroll across the bridge to OPR and the Main Feature pool. Plus the walk across the bridge in the AM when the sun is rising over OPR is gorgeous!

Of these 2 we prefer Jamaica 45 only because the bright yellow exteriors of the Jamaica buildings just scream Caribbean to us.

Just piping in, we've stayed at CBR the last five years and we've requested ground floor Jamaica or Aruba. One year we got Martinique. Those are all great!

For us we'll require a ground floor as 2 of us struggle with stairs. Should we call and request ground as well as preferences for village and not bother with TP fax?

We always request Jamaica, Building 44 or 45. We also like Aruba 51. CBR is our favorite resort.

That's our preferred method. We've had great luck.

I stayed in Jamaica for my trip last year, it was a great location. CBR was a fun resort with delicious food.
