Has anyone recently stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort? We are arriving on August 3, 2002. Thanks for the help. This is our third time at this resort.

I was just there May 17-25. It was my first time at CBR and it quickly became my favorite.

I loved the spacious grounds around the lake. The rooms have been recently refurbished and mine was very clean. The foodcourt is not my favorite, POR is better, but I liked having all the tables with umbrellas outside in the court area. It is less noisy eating out there.

I found the busses were pretty good. I never had much of a wait at the parks for CBR.

Have a great & magical trip.

We just got back from WDW 2 weeks ago and we stayed the last 4 days of our trip at CBR. It was lovely, the rooms are very nice they are large and beautifully furnished, the grounds were beautiful, the CMs were some of the nicest I have ever come across, we were not crazy about the food court because you have to pay at each station but the food was decent, one negative I did notice is the pool tiles at the main pool could use a good scrubbing there was mold on them and the quiet pool by Trinidad North needed some concrete work done around the outside coping.

My DH and I stayed for four nights in April. This was my third stay at CBR, my husband's first. I really liked the rehab rooms, so much more storage space. We kept all of our snacks/breakfast items under the sink, really nice shelves. We had a four cup coffee maker, which was fine. I had bought coffee pouches at Wal Mart, my husband is only coffee drinker. I did miss the refrig but we bought a cooler at Target, on our way to resort. It worked great for our soda, water, beer and milk.
I also enjoyed the quiet pool much more than the main pool. Easy walk from room, the bathrooms are right there too. Very uncrowded. Many chairs, and tables available.
We stayed in the Jamaica section, I love the blue/yellow colors, very quiet area. We were a 10 min walk to OPR. The walk from the foodcourt one night was very pretty, nice walk over bridge and along the water.
Enjoy your stay!

We were there May 4-11. It was great. We have stayed there every year since 96. My wife and I love it. I did not see any renovations going on. We stayed in Jamacia 46.

I haven't stayed there recently (last time was December 2000), but I just wanted to add that I love this resort as well!! DH and I really enjoyed swingin on the hammocks at night as we watched the fireworks at Epcot!! :)

We stayed there for our honeymoon (11/2000) and LOVED IT. We'll be heading back to CBR this Christmas!

We just got back yesterday( June 9). We loved it!!!!!!!!!! We stayed in Aruba and actually loved the walk to OPR. Whenever we didn't walk we rode the bus. We loved the rooms and the food court. The CMs were extremely nice. We are already planning our next trip.:Pinkbounc

We just got back from CBR last Saturday and you can add us to the list of happy customers.

We stayed in Jamaica and made the walk to Old Port Royale several times a day and neither us or our kids ever minded it. It's very relaxing on the island and the piped in background music on the walkways is great as well.

As we approached our last day there, we really wished we had spent more time at the resort, we enjoyed it that much. We never had a chance to rent the bikes or the boats.

The large pool was great, however, it was very hard on our eyes and skin because of the amount of chemicals. In fact, one night they closed it at 7:00 because of the high chemical level.

We had 3 families arriving at different times and they somehow arranged us to be in 3 rooms right next to each other. We felt in general the CMs were great.

The one thing we didn't like as much was the food court. The prices were reasonable (for Disney), and the food was very good, but because each type of food has it's own line, you have to stand in separate lines for each type of food. We learned early in the week to coordinate the types of food we ate there, otherwise with 4 of us we could be standing in 4 different lines to get everyone their food. The lines also seemed to move much slower than they do at counter service restaurants at the parks.

Which section/room would you recommend ??? (convenient to busses/ food court and for design)

I was in Trinidad North, building 31. It is a smoking building tho, but close to both foodcourt & bus stop.

We stayed in Jamaica Bldg 42 and it was very nice, this year I am requesting it again

We are going to CBR in July. I glad to see such positive reports. Cassie I am looking to stay in building 31. Were you on the first floor or the second? What type of view did you have? Some in our group are not smokers. Will they have a problem staying in bldg. 31?

July won't come quick enough!

I am seriously considering switching my November ressies to CBR. Can anyone recommend any particular buildings? It's just DH and I and we are going to reserve a king bed (don't mind paying extra to make sure we have one!). Any insight into the resort would be appreciated!

Thanks-
Erin

Hi MadamG2U,

I was in room 3111 which was on the first floor. It was the side facing building 32, but a decent view. The buildings are so unique and there was alot of foliage between us.

If your friends don't have a problem with smoke, they won't have a problem staying there. I was there for 8 days, and I never saw anyone smoking around the outside of the buildings. Also, housekeeping was very good. Enjoy your trip. :) :)

MRSTG: My DH and I had a king bed room, first Disney trip without kids. (4/02) It was worth it to pay the extra, but wished we could have also had water view. Jamaica, Trinidad North are the two areas where I have stayed, TN is closer to OPR. However it is nice to lookout over the water and see main bldgs. The rooms are larger than PO, we stayed there 4/01. You really can't go wrong with either resort, the grounds are very nice, and the resort much less congested than All Stars.
The resort is very romantic, the lighting at night is great. Spend time at quiet pools, they are very nice. We had a car and drove to MGM, AK. Very short commute.

MADAMG2U: We had a room on the second floor and found it very quiet. View was of courtyard, ferns, ducks, and flowering bushes. No water or parking lot.

Last year we had 4253 in Jamaica, it was a King, second floor AND waterview and was perfect, the walk to OPR about 3 min....I like second floor rooms best
