Caribbean Beach Resort March 14-21, 2009

I noted the air conditioner is the type that is mounted under the window how noisey was it. the ones at the value resorts are not that way and you cannot here them run.

Ours was not noisy at all and either was the one in our parent's room next door. You can hear it though but I found it soothing like white noise. However, I heard one in building #15 that had quite a rattle but it was the only one I noticed when walking along the exterior walkways in Barbados.

Thanks for your report! We'll be staying there in a few weeks - it is always nice to hear a good report about the resort your going to be staying at. I didn't read all your posts, so you may have mentioned this, but how long did it take you to walk from Barbados to the food court/main pool area? We also requested either Jamaica or Aruba, but am thinking we may not get put in either of these two areas due to the large number of people who request those sections. We are not paying for a preferred room, so I'm worried we may be stuck "out there" in Barbados. Many years ago I stayed at CBR with my parents and sister and we were in Barbados. I don't remember the walk to be that far to the food court/main pool but then again I was about ten-years-old at the time and walking far distances didn't seem to bother me. This time it will be different since I'll have twin two-year-olds in tow.

I'm glad you had a great stay! :thumbsup2

I think Barbados looks really pretty. I know no one ever asks for it but the colors and landscaping are really pretty....I wouldn't be disappointed;)

Thanks for the pics. I was in that same building this past December. ::sigh:: Wish I was back there right now. :goodvibes

The walk was about 5 minutes, not bad and I am a slow walker. I only did the walk once and the rest of the time we just drove our rental car to Old Port Royale because we left for the parks from there. Our DD has a disability and a rental car just works better for us for getting around. I wish I could be more help.

Hi there!! We were also at CBR the same time as OP (March 14-21). We absolutely loved it!! We were in Trinidad South, in a Pirate Room, building 34. There were only families in our block (no teen groups), and the beach and the quiet pool were very quiet the times we went. My teenager actually left with his friend to go to the Jamaica Beach, where there were teenagers hanging out. I guess we got lucky. A few afternoons we went to the big pool with our younger children. It was crowded, but not rowdy. The teeangers and college spring-breakers seemed to be in control.

Also, our room was completely dark at night, once you pulled the black out curtains. Our air conditioner did not make any noise either. We found it to be an awesome location, and not too far a walk to the food court/main pool. If you don't want to walk, the Internal Resort Shuttle came to the bus stop often (my daughter called it the International Space Shuttle:lmao:)

The beaches and grounds were so beautiful, and we took a pizza over to Caribbean Cay one afternoon to eat on the picnic tables ($16 for a large -- great bargain!). Love that atmosphere with the reggae music piped in!!

Wish I were still there!!!!pirate:

Great pictures!! It makes the end of May seem even farther away for me... But it also got me excited to go. Thanks!

I wish I was still there too! I keep thinking this time last week we were......

For some reason our black out curtains didn't fully cover the window but the light didn't bother me. My bedroom at home is just as light thanks to a streetlight right outside my window... My parents on the other hand live in the country so they used towels to block out some of the light. Just an FYI for everyone, the rooms have blinds that close AND the blackout curtains. Now I am wishing I had reserved a pirate room instead of Nemo! But like I said, the groups did not ruin our trip by any means.

Thanks for the review & pics. We're staying at CBR in June. Can't wait!

Thanks for the review and the pics. I really like your flower and walkway pics as I have seen pics of the grounds and rooms/buildings but these were different, oh and also the duck. Hurry up May! We are staying in a pirate room for DGD's surprise 5th birthday trip. Sorry you had to deal with loud teens but you seem to be in great spirits and are not the type of person to have let that upset your trip. After all, we are all in the World! What better place to be?

Great report! This will be our first time at CBR, and as you can tell from my signature, I am/was quite nervous about my choice. Looking at your pictures, I'm really excited about staying at CBR...thanks for the pictures!
