Caribbean Beach Resort March 14-21, 2009

I enjoyed your pics.! This will be our first stay at the CBR!!!! Hope its quiet! We enjoy a good nights rest!!!!:cool1:

Looking forward to seeing more pics! We've stayed at the CBR three times and loved it. We are staying at Pop this August and I'm sure we'll miss the CBR. I've said it numerous times.....trip reports and pictures are what get me through to our next WDW vacation.;)

We visited POP during this trip and while I can't comment on the rooms there we did LOVE their food court! The food choices and quality was better (in my opinion) than CBR and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and music! There is just something about hearing "Dancing Queen" while eating lunch!!! :) The frozen coke and blue raspberry frozen drinks in the refillable mugs was also very NICE! Yes, we cheated and brought our refillable mugs from CBR to POP to use.

It's always nice to hear a great review of a resort. We are soooo going to miss the CBR but I am looking forward to trying a new resort. We drove over to Pop last August to have a look around. We really liked to look of the resort. We ate in the food court and all three meals were delicious. I think my only concerns now are room space and transportation to and from the parks.

Barbados beach in the late afternoon during a rare quiet time. An hour before the beach was crowded with teens playing volleyball and sunbathing.

Lots of ducks wander around CBR. We also saw these black and white ducks that I heard the teens call "Dalmatian Ducks." :)

Early in the morning at the quiet pool in Barbados. We never made it over to the new pool. :sad2: It was just too loud and busy for DD (she has autism) and the quiet pool wasn't exactly quiet but Madelyn loved it. The first couple of days the water was warm but then they must of turned off the heater because the water got colder by the end of the week. I heard many guests complaining about it. I don't know how warm the main pool was.

This bridge leads to a wooded area in-between Barbados and Aruba. This is NOT the quickest way over to Old Port Royale. The quickest way would be to walk clockwise around the lake and go through the Martinique section.

This is the last of my CBR pictures but I may post more WDW photos if and when I ever write a trip report! All in all we really had a great trip and didn't let the massive amount of sports teams at the resort ruin our trip. But let's just say my ear plugs and unisom came in handy. ;)

I enjoyed your review and loved looking at your picks. Sounds like a great trip. Sorry about the "noisy" sports kids there.

hi the pictures look great. We go on the 30th june for 6 nights and after reading about groups going at the beginning of july DH is getting quite concerned. The last thing we want is our holiday spoiled by large groups. Do you think its worth changing resorts:confused3

If we had it to do over again, we might have changed to another resort if we had known that many groups were going to be at CBR during our trip. I am very hesitant to recommend that you do that. Security was pretty quick to take care of any prolonged noise late at night. Our trip was not spoiled by the groups but yes it did take a little bit away from our happiness factor. They were quite rowdy at the quiet pool and on the beach. If your heart is set on a Caribbean themed resort then please consider keeping your reservation. My hope is that CBR will try their best to keep the groups in one section for your trip and I would ask about that at check in. We had no idea that these groups were staying there until we got to our room but upon further observation they were in every section of the resort except maybe the pirate themed rooms. Are you in a pirate room?

Thanks for sharing your experiences and photos with us! I have never stayed at CBR(never wanted to), but your photos of your building and the landscaping put a smile on my face, so may have to try it out, after all. I could not tell how big the fridge was inside the cabinet? May just be an illusion, but it just seems shorter than the ones we have had in POR.
We were at POR 3/8-3/15. We did wake up one morning to two tour buses sitting in the back of our parking lot. My first thought was 'oh no!'. I've experienced cheer groups before. Not so pleasant. 'Our' team turned out to be a group from Texas, and were well behaved. Other years, I've seen groups practicing on the green spaces, and making all kinds of noise. Not so this time, or at least they did it while I was in the parks. Sure did see alot of teams in the parks, especially noticeable in DHS, of course. I highly recommend POR, especially the 'Mansions'(where there are elevators, none in the AB section). I've always gotten ground floor per request.

I wish I had taken a photo of the inside of the fridge. I know in another thread there is a photo of the inside. We were able to fit 3 half gallons of milk in the door and then about 10 small bottles of water and soda in the main part. We could of fit much more in it and it kept everything very cold.

We stayed at POR 4 times with the last time being in 2004. DD was in a pack in play at that time. We had dinner at their food court last Thursday night and my parents (first time visitors since 1985 and first time onsite) commented their this food court was better than CBR's. I have to agree. The food choices are better and I also preferred the beverage choices. I know that might not be a big deal to some, but I liked being able to get rootbeer as it is the only soft drink I really like. CBR does not have rootbeer. Also POR has a mug wash and CBR does not, or at least I did not see one.

hi we have not booked a pirate room yet but we will find out about one when we arrive.
thanks for advice.

This is just a hunch, but I don't think the teams were assigned rooms in the pirate section OR in the preferred location section so those might be something for you to consider. We were in a standard room. Like I said, they (the groups) did not ruin our trip but they got quite loud at the "quiet" pool in Barbados and running around the walkways and stairs at night. They were no problem in the food court though. I think they ate at different times than we did. We were usually there around 8am in the morning and then again around 9pm.

Good review. Sorry about the teenagers, I can see how that would be so frustrating! YOu should have taken pic of them! Well I go in 3 short wks, I can not wait. Thanks for sharing all your pictures!

I should have but I was always trying to stay far away from them because I always had DD with me. When they crowded the pools we left. I am anxious to hear reports from this week because it looked like even more groups were arriving as we were leaving. Hopefully they will be gone by the time you arrive.

There is one. It's at the end of the counter that has the microwaves and toasters. I can see how you'd miss it though.;)

LOL! Well that figures. I will have to tell DH because we both looked and looked for one but didn't look there!!!! Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2

I noted the air conditioner is the type that is mounted under the window how noisey was it. the ones at the value resorts are not that way and you cannot here them run.

Not the original poster but we have stayed at the CBR three years in a row with the last being in 2008. We've never had a problem with noisy air conditioners.
