The ac/heat box in the window makes great white noise! I totally understand where you are coming from as we also like our white noise. You won't get enough sound out of the ceiling fans alone.

Can anyone tell me what kind of pillows they have? I have found a lot of hotels use feathers lately and I am allergic so I usually request foam ones ahead of time. Thanks

No idea, but I'd like to know the answer too. I would be surprised if they were feather.

We were at CBR in December, and, while I can't swear to it, I don't think the pillows were feather. I'm not allergic or anything, but I don't care for feather pillows because I find them to be too smushy for my comfort. And I don't recall having that problem at CBR.

The last time I stayed at CBR they weren't feather pillows. I would imagine they are foam. I didn't find them very squishy. :(

I loved the pillows. If someone can find out exactly what kind of pillows they are and which company makes them, I would appreciate it!

We will be at the CBR in 70 more days :Pinkbounc ..We are also booked on the DCL after our stay at the parks. Our trip is booked thru DCL and I requested the village of Jamaca...what are the odds I will get a room there. We will be arriving on June 5..I know this is Gay Days weekend and wondering how crowded it will be..was thinking of heading to DTD after we arrive and then doing some swimming at the hotel---or do you think we could head for the magic kingdom and catch the parade? Any suggestion are appreciated!!!
Just myself and my 7 yr old son..... :earboy2: :earsgirl:

If the resort is full the main pool may be crowded. There is a quiet pool at each village and they usually aren't busy.

Jamaica is a popular location but you may have your request granted.

I HAVE JUST CALLED THCBR AND PUT IN A COUPLE OF REQUESTS IE: CONNECTING ROOMS AND A BUILDING WITH CLOSE PROXIMITY TO BUSES AND FOOD COURT. ARE THEY GOOD ABOUT GRANTING REQUESTS? :cool1: ONLY FIVE MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A room close to the food court would be in a preferred location costing extra unless you don't mind staying across the lake in Jamaica or Aruba. Yes they are pretty good about granting requests.

Sorry if this is posted already, I haven't finished reading through all the FAQ's.

I was thinking of requesting building 45 in Jamaica, on the map it looks like that's the closest building to the bridge...but, it also looks to be the closest building to the only smoking building (Aruba 51)...is 45 so close to 51 that the smoke travels over?

We were in Jamaica 45 in December, in a second floor corner room overlooking the lagoon and very close to the next Aruba building, which I presume would be the one you are referring to. We never noticed any smoke during our weeklong stay. Granted, we spent the majority of our time in the parks, but we were there some evenings, and would go outside onto the walkway or for a walk to Old Port Royale. No smoke odor ever from anywhere.

**TRANSPORTATION UPDATE**

Starting sometime next week (4/4/05), Trinidad North bus stop will be CLOSED for renovations. Repair work will take approximatly 2 weeks. During the closure, guests staying at Trinidad North will need to utilize the Old Port Royale bus stop.

Does anyone know if taxi's are readily available from CBR? We may need to make a grocery run and I was wondering if that would be possible without a rental car. Does the resort sell basic groceries? Milk? Bread? Thanks.

Sthronds, as I recall, the Grab and Go market has individual size containers of milk and juice and such, and various snack and pre-made/pre-packaged sandwiches, salads, desserts, fruit, etc, but there were really no basic groceries, like a loaf of bread.

I left a nice note with the tip for the maid asking that if she had some time my dds would be thrilled with a towel animal - we got back that night and there were seven! We also ate at Shutters - the food was really good - the papaya (sp) salad was fantastic, I had the chicken one night and pork another - very tasty. My DH had the steak / prime rib and it was generous and very tasty. The fridges are a good size - we put in a pint of milk and dozen bottles of water etc. If they can get a grocery stop - go for it. Eating breakfast in our rooms was kind of nice and quiet before heading out (bottles of water in the backpack) and allowed for a nice in room snack at night - there is a microwave at the food court. With two kids towels get used up pretty quickly and they left us two extra everynight.

Tell them to have a blast - it is a really nice quiet resort. I posted a trip report on the Trip Board.

Depending on how much you need, consider a grocery delivery. I've never used them yet, but I'll be using Gooding's for my May 8 - 14 trip. $50 minimum, $10 fee. That minimum will be easy for me: 4 adults, 2 pre-schoolers, milk, PB&J, bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, mozzarella cheese sticks, cereal, plastic bowls, bottled water, etc.
