Good morning..... leaving in 8 days :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Is there a place to buy milk (gallon or 1/2) at CBR to keep in the room? My kids are big cereal fans, and I was planning on bringing down a box or 2.

Thanks!
Wendy

Hey! We leave in 11 days :cool1: , and are staying at CBR!! We have never stayed there b/f, but I am sure they sell it there ( as I recall they sold some at ASSP when we stayed there). Have a safe trip down...see you there! :sunny:

There is definitely individual servings you can purchase at the Old Port Royale. Check in the gift shop way in the back by the cash register, they probably have quarts or half gallons available.

Have a great time!

Just returned today from CBR. All we saw were 16 oz. bottles of chocolate milk and small cartons of skim, 1%, and whole milk in the "Grab and Go" at Port Royale. Went several times for hot chocolate thoughout the week and all we got was hot water, very tasteless. Was disappointed :-(, hope they will have it on track when you arrive.

Have a great time, wish we were going back!

Tell us how you liked CBR! I noticed from your signature that it's your first stay there and you've stayed at several other WDW resorts. We've booked CBR for our first time next May.
Thanks!

They have milk in the refrigerator in the gift shop. Not sure of the size though. Next time I am over there I will take a look.

Also, I just started reading about the new bus system set up for CBR - so I gather the bummer of having a long walk from some areas is no longer since you don't have to walk far within the resort in order to leave or come back at night?
I'm not sure what you mean by a "new bus system" and far walks to and from bus stops. I stayed at CBR in August 1990 and again in May 2005 and the bus system was the same each time -- each village has its own bus stop, plus Old Port Royale has one. There was never a time when anyone had to walk across CBR to get a bus. What new system did you read about? Please let us know!!!

Couple quick feedback notes... I stayed at CBR South Trinidad building 38 (room 3802) Sept-3 to Sept-11 2005.

- they are wiring and configuring high speed internet in all the rooms (service on trial until October then for approx 9-10$/day).
I haven't seen much posted about this and I tried searching... are all the rooms at CBR wired for hi-speed internet support now? I didn't see anything in the usual resort descriptions (on Disneyworld.com or elsewhere) that mentioned this. Although I'm not sure how much I would actually use the internet, it would be nice to know if it's an option. You know, for on-site research and planning on the DIS boards and stuff. :)

When we were there at the end of October, both rooms we stayed in had High Speed Internet. Was set up on the night stand in between the 2 beds

Just got back on Wednesday. Paid to be upgraded to preferred location (Martinique #26) would definately pay it again! Watched Illuminations from the beach (even heard the music!) and yes there was high speed internet access in the room. We had a lovely time- would gladly answer any questions I can!

Thanks everyone for the quick response to my question! I really appreciate it. Everyone on the DIS boards is helpful and friendly. CBR, here we come! Jan 13-17.

We just returned from our first stay at CBR and had a wonderful time. It was quite the undertaking with 9 rooms and 24 people. We were in Barbados 14. Quite a ways from OPR but close to the Custom House. My father has difficulty walking so I don't know if they did that for that reason or not. We were very close to the pool so it was great for the kids. One small glitch was my parents room REEKED of cigar smoke. They called the main desk and the offered another room but when they noticed we were a grand gathering, they immediately sent over an air purifier and left it there for my parents entire stay.

Also another nice thing, my father became very ill (from over doing it!) and they let my parents keep the room until it was time to leave (2:00) at no add'l charge.

I still can't believe how HUGE that place is. We could see illuminations from the 2nd floor with no problems. OPR was about a 5 minute walk. Buses were speedy and not too badly crowded every morning. I'd definetly stay again :)

Caribbean Beach Resort Report:

We just got back from a stay at CBR and I thought it was great! We were in Aruba #56 and we had 3 rooms. They gave us 2 connecting rooms like we needed, and the other room right next door. The rooms were plenty big for our family of 6 – we had 2 adults in one and 4 kids in the other room that connected.

The fridge space was nice and held a half gallon of milk with no problem.

I also loved the curtain that could separate the sink area from the rest of the room. This helped create more clothes changing areas for the kids, as well as letting others sleep without light shining in their faces.

The resort was lovely – the kids loved the hammocks and beaches, although they didn’t get to use them much because we were usually in the parks, or napping! The grounds were very beautiful as well. I enjoyed the walk to Old Port Royale (where the food court and shops are) the first night, but I tried to cut out as much walking as possible the rest of the time. I used the internal shuttles and we also had a rental car which worked nicely. You do not need a rental car, but we were eating at other resorts which can take a long time to get to using Disney transportation. We also needed a ride for church.

The kids used the pool a couple of times. I tried to go in with them the first night, but there is NO WAY the water was 85 degrees as advertised. I watched them contentedly from the side. There were also no lifeguards at the main pool like I thought there were supposed to be. They did have life jackets for the little ones which was lovely.

I would definitely stay there again.

:cool1: Just booked the Fl. Resident special for $106.00 a night plus tax makes it $118.00. :cool1: Staying Feb. 3-7th and asking for first floor room. Since they all have refrigerators, I don't need to be near the OPR. ;) So, anywhere I get a room is fine with me! :goodvibes

We just got home an hour ago.

This was a short trip (3 nights) with just my husband. I got an email pin code and decided to use it.

I really liked this resort. We were in Aruba, Building 54, room 5448. The room was very nice. It was a king-bed room which was great. We were on the second floor and had a corner room which meant we had two nice size windows. We had a view of the lake and the quiet pool. It was very pretty. The room was clean and we have absolutely no complaints about it at all. I enjoyed it a lot.

The walk across the island to the main building was not a problem at all. I enjoyed getting up in the morning and heading out for my morning Diet Coke. The food court area was fine. We were there only in the mornings and arrived right before closing on our first night.

CM's were very nice. I was looking over the railing outside our room on the first night (we got there about 10:30 pm) and a security person waved at me from the pool and asked how I was doing. A few minutes later I went down by the quiet pool and ran into 2 more CM's who were very friendly. The CM who checked us in was also quite pleasant.

This is a big resort but it wasn't a problem for us. The only place we needed to go to was Old Port Royale and it was a very pretty walk. We knew the bus would be making several stops within the resort before heading out to the parks, so we just planned for it. Not a problem at all.

My kids would have loved Parrot Cay Island if they had been with us. It looks like a great place for them to wander around and play.

Since it was a short trip, we were out and about most of the time. I really wish we had more time to spend at the resort because I really thought it was relaxing, fun and beautiful.

This resort gets a big thumbs up from me.

Thanks to everyone that posted your trip reports. You've confirmed to us that we made a good decision to stay @ CBR after a 10 yr hiatus. Will be arriving in less that 3 wks. Can't wait.
