Does anyone know if I can have a gift basket shipped to my room prior to our arrival? I would love to have a autograph book and photo album waiting for DD and DSis when we arrive.
Thank you.

I have a little pirate of my own..my ds is 7 and absolutely loved the CBR!!! He asked to only stay there from now on and specifically stated he wanted to stay in Jamaica. The pool at OPR is his favorite and could hardly get him out of it!!! Have a great time!!!

We are staying at CBR April 1-7th and wanted to know how I request a certain room or location. We didn't pay for a preferred area, but really looking at Aruba or Jamaica. I booked through AAA, but not sure who to request through.

Thanks! Great FAQ!!

You would need to have your AAA agent contact Disney. They will add your requests to your reservation. You can't do it since AAA "owns" the reservation. You can do this at any time.

just got back yesterday, we stayed there for twelve nights (dec. 23 - january 4) and let me just say they were the best nights we have ever spent in an hotel. we were located in jamaica 44 (our parents were in one room, my brother and i in the one next to theirs). since it was our first time staying at a disney resort we didn't really know what to expect but lets just say we plan on going back to CBR for every trip we will be taking in the future.

since it was the holidays i was sort of expecting to see lots of people but it was actually the opposite. i think the only time i actually felt there was lots of people was one morning when we got up late and ate breakfast as 10ish am.

prior to our trip i had been reading up every page of this thread and when people were talking about seeing the fireworks from the beach i assumed you could see some of it but without actually having a proper view. i clearly was wrong. i never expected to get the view we had of the fireworks from the beach next to the main pool. simply amazing.

we couldn't have been able to live off the foodcourt alone since it's pretty much basic meals, but when you want a simple and quicky meal they were the perfect choice - especially since the food is actually very good.

i can't do anything but rave about this resort, thank you guys for making me choose this resort. it was one of the best holidays we've ever had. ::MickeyMo

My wife and I are staying at the CBR feb 1-5 06 for her b-day. i have read about requested areas. How do I do that ? She thinks we are staying at the Pop Century but I am upgrading for her b-day as a surprise for her.

Also is there a charge for parking at CBR ?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Welcome to the DIS. First there is no charge for parking at CBR. Since you are a resort guest there also won't be a fee for parking at the parks.

If you would like to request a certain area at CBR and you made the reservation with Disney yourself you can call reservations and have your requests added to your reservation. If you made the reservation through a travel agent they will have to make the requests for you.

If you have not paid extra for a preferred location many folks like Aruba or Jamaica. It is a short walk across the bridge to the other side of the lake. It is an enjoyable walk to the food court and main pool.

You will have a great time at CBR.

Is it really worth the extra money for a preffered room or a water view room?

Of course i dont want to always look out our room and see a parking lot. I can see that at any hotel.

Again we are there for my wifes birthday and i want it to be special but if its not worth the extra money then we can use that money for some other special things.

At the time of booking can i request a flower bouquet to be in the room when we arrive to surprise her ?

What time do the busses stop returning from the parks including Pleasure Island ?

I also heard heard something about earlier and later hours at the parks for resort guests. How can i find out which parks and the extended hours?

I guess that should be it for now. I know i will come up with more before we get there.

Thanks
Steve

I think the preferred view is worth the money if you want to be near the food court and main pool. I don't think the water view is worth it. You don't have a balcony to enjoy the view and it is hard to see when you are in the room.

Even views facing the parking lot are great since there is so much landscaping you don't even see the cars in the parking lot.

You can arrange with the Disney florist to deliver to your room but until you are checked in that room could be assigned to someone else. They will hold your gift until you are checked in.

As far as theme park hours and early entry you should ask those questions on the theme parks board. There will be folks that can answer those questions for you.

In a couple of my past stays at WDW, there have been "food things" you just had to try that were unique to that resort. At PO-FQ, it was beingets. At PC it was tie-dyed cheesecakes. OK - so what is the food "thing" to try at CBR?

Cheers!

We just returned from a fantastic trip (12-26 to 01-02)! First time stay at CBR. I had such a great time. I’ve stayed at all of the moderates expect for POR, but I must say, CBR is way under-rated. I can’t believe some of the negative posts I’ve read. I can’t imagine having a bad time there. I’m glad I was able to experience it for myself as it is a wonderful place. There is no doubt I will return there. It’s large and spread out, but not as bad a CSR. It doesn’t have the convention feel either as CSR did. CSR is nice, but just doesn’t have that “vacation” feeling as CBR did. CBR really made you feel as if you were away from it all. Sorry CSR lovers, but I experienced both resorts and it’s CBR by a long shot! CBR food court is 100 times better than CSR Pepper Market. When we stayed at CSR, I ended up eating in the Maya Grill as I couldn’t stand the Pepper Market for more than two days. It just didn’t appeal to me at all and I thought the food was horrible! Sorry guys.

At CBR, the kids had towel animals every day. It was very magical for them (and us too) to come back to the room and find a surprise every day. They weather was outstanding! The first day was chilly (68 degrees), but by the end of the trip it was 82! No rain for all 8 days! A far shot from the gray, cold northeast. My coworkers are jealous of my suntan!

Every request I made on my reservation was met! They gave us the exact location and everything we asked for! Can’t ask for any more than that! I never faxed anything, just called and asked our requests be put on our reservation. The staff there is great!

We spent NYE in Epcot. WOW! What a great time! WDW really knows how to throw a party! It was crowded, but bearable. We used fast pass for all the rides we could, and got on everything we wanted to ride. I didn’t think the fireworks would very end! Very impressive.

We did the Candlelight Procession, for the first time. The Narrator was John Stamos. My kids went crazy! “Dad, it’s Uncle Jesse from Full House”! To see the smiles on their face was such a great feeling! We had third row with a great view. What a great experience for them! Our dinner was at the Coral Reef. Outstanding! We had a table right in front of the tank! Service and food was great.

I wasn’t planning on returning to WDW for awhile, but after this trip (#23) I’m already planning next Christmas! I can’t wait to do NYE in Disneyworld again! What a blast!

Hi everyone! I just upgraded our package from Pop to CBR yesterday! We are very excited, and I look forward to reading through this thread for good tips! :)

have dinner reservations at Contemporary resort for Chef Mickeys and was wondering the best way to get from CBR to the Contemporary? Have been reading all the posts and want to say Thank you for all the information for this first timer to Disney and CBR.

Take the bus to MK and then Monorail over to the Contemporary.

Or bus to MK and walk to the CR. Probably about the same amount of time depending on if you have to wait for a monorail.

The Jamaica Section is? I would like to be on the first floor, an end room perhaps Building 45? Anyone stay in this section and can tell me how it is? Thanks!

Jamaica is a great section to be in at CBR. I haven't stayed in 45, but I have stayed in both 44 and 46 numerous times. 45 Puts you very close to the bridge that will lead you to OPR and the main theme pool.
