Back from 6 nights at CBR....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to some not so great reviews, I was apprehensive about this resort. But my concerns were quickly put to rest.
We arrived app. 3:30 on Sat., July 15th. Obviously a ME bus had just unloaded before we arrived with a queue extending to the front door. Even then, it only took us 20-25 minutes to check in. The CM was very quick, professional, and helpful.
We requested Jamaica and received Jamaica 44, Room 4413. We loved this room. It was a corner 1st floor room (no extra window - OK with us). We had last been to WDW in 1997 staying at Dixie Landings (POR now). I was struck by how much bigger this room was. Those extra few feet DO make a difference.
We made great use of the refrigerator, eating all of our breakfasts in the room. It even froze some of our water bottles. We really have nothing to say good or bad about the Food Court. We only ate one meal there. It was OK. I mean come on, it's a FOOD COURT!
The landscaping and theming were just gorgeous. I do wish we had taken more time to just enjoy the resort. But seeing as how we hadn't been there in 9 years, and not knowing how long it would be before we got back, we were in the parks as much as we could be. We did enjoy the quiet pool in Jamaica. $13.00 for a couple of loads of laundry might have been a little steep, but what are you gonna do?
Mousekeeping was very good. Only 1 towel animal when we checked in, but no big deal really. Our DD is 14 so no loss there. Our room was always clean when we returned in the early afternoon, with plenty of soap and extra towels.
Bus service was good I thought (avg. 5-10 min.). The longest waits were in the parks waiting to return to the resort. I'm guessing fatigue magnified those waits.
Many thanks to Safetymom for her info about CBR. We enjoyed it very much and would not hesitiate to recommend it to anyone or return again for another stay.
Any questions? I will do my best to answer them.
