There's been a lot of questions about the fridge in CBR, however is there a grocery store near by?

First trip to WDW 5/28
There's a tiny and high-priced convenience store in the food court. If you want actual groceries, and you are taking Disney's Magical Express (DME) from the airport to CBR, your best bet for groceries is delivery. I used Gooding's (www.goodings.com), a local private market, and loved the convenience because you don't have to be at CBR to get your delivery -- they deliver to Bell Services and THEY keep the cold stuff cold for you if you're out. Some people have posted they think Gooding's is too expensive. I've read a lot of people liked using www.wegoshop.com, which is a delivery service that will shop wherever you want them to. There's www.gardengrocer.com, which I don't know anything about, and there's www.netgrocer.com. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but netgrocer is the one where your groceries are SHIPPED to you, so you can't order perishables. Personally, if I was going to receive a shipment of non-perishables I'd shop for it, pack it, and send it to myself, avoiding the need to pay someone else for all the labor.

I don't know if any policies have changed, but when I was looking around for options for my May 2005 trip I choose Gooding's for the not-having-to-be-there-for-the-delivery thing.

So--back to bus travel again. If I have a preferred building location, and I get bus pick up at the Old Port Royale Complex, how long does it generally take to leave the resort? I know there are other pick ups within the resort.

Oh--and the buses are air conditioned and heated (lets hope we don't need heat) right?

Just out of curiousity, do they play Disney music on the bus? :woohoo:

Just because you have a room in a "preferred location" doesn't mean that OPR's bus stop will be the closest bus stop to you. We were in Trinidad North 3339 and 3340, which are preferred location rooms. We were directly across a thin strip of parking lot from Trinidad North's bus stop.

The buses make their first stop in CBR either at Jamaica or at Martinique. So let's say a bus starts at Martinique, you get on at OPR, and it has to stop almost everywhere else before leaving CBR. It takes less than 5 minutes to make the loop, probably more like 3, but I'm just guessing. And by the way, you'll love the incredibly short rides to Epcot and MGM. CBR is right in Epcot's backyard, but the Epcot front entrance is on the "wrong" side -- Barbados in CBR is directly behind Epcot's American pavilion. That's why you can see IllumiNations so well from so many spots inside CBR.

Yes, the buses are climate controlled. Never been there in winter, but there is very merciful air conditioning for that Florida heat and humidity.

No, I don't recall any Disney music or anything like that. But you know all the ads that practically cover the insides of city buses? In Disney Transport buses they're ALL Disney ads. You'll have SOMETHING to look at the first few times until it gets boring.

HAVE A GREAT TIME!

YIPPIE!!! I Love Epcot, and are planning many days there this visit.

Been in Jan and Feb, and the busses do have heat when needed. ;)

This thread is absolutely wonderful! :teeth: We're planning a trip next year and were trying to decide between CBR & CSR. I found the thread about CSR but was leaning more towards this one. We had a bunch of questions and I think you folks have answered everyone plus ones I hadn't even though of! Thanks so much!

Are the in room safes big enough to fit laptops into them? I know we were able to put our laptop in the safe at the GF and I believe the Contemporary too.

Oops, sorry, I found my answer. I guess the safes are pretty small at CBR. Looks like we'll put it in suitcase and lock the suitcase.

I heard while staying at CBR and have kiddies make sure you request the morning wake up call. Has anybody done this? What did your kiddies think?

Oh yes, we always ask for the morning wake up call! It is so cute! A few words of advice though, it usually works better to have the call come in after your child is already awake. You can try it out as a wake up call, but I found that my kids were too sleepy to really hear it and would get upset if they missed any of it. I started having it ring about half an hour after I woke them up or right before we were out the door for the day. They loved it much more wide awake! :thumbsup2

Does any one know if there are King beds in Martinique? We need adjoining rooms with my parents and they requested a king bed and we paid for preferred locations.

I asked this question on another CBR thread and didn't get an answer so I'll try it here.
We will be at CBR this summer and have a question about the room decor. From all the pictures I've seen of the rooms, most have the bright multi-colored bed spread, but some of the others I've seen have light blue ones and beige ones. Are there different interior color schemes for the different sections of the resorts, or are some of these just older pictures from before the rehab? I think I would like to request Jamaica. Does anyone have some room interior pictures of Jamaica?
TIA!:donald:

Just make sure your terminology is correct. In Disney-speak, "adjoining" rooms means the rooms are simply next to each other, they share a wall. "Connecting" rooms are adjoining rooms that have an internal door between them. :sunny:

Like Safetymom said they are all the same. I think all ears is one site that shows different colors in the pics. Here are some pics from the Jamaica rooms: I hope they help!

Have ADR's at Cape May for breakfast,

where is the best place to take the bus to get there from CBR?? I am thinking to Epcot and then a boat or walk to beach club, but not sure. Any suggestions??

(BTW -- same question for POLY dinner)

TIA!!

I would also suggest MGM as that is the closest park to CBR and from the bus drop off point it is not a long walk to the boat launch (like it is at Epcot) at the Studios (or you can take the walking path).

For the Poly I have had the best luck just taking a bus to the MK and then monorailing over.
