Glad to know you had a great time at CBR. We look forward to our stay in May. :bounce:

I didn't even have to read the whole thread, only got through about 20 pages. I'm hooked. Just got off the phone with Disney and I booked 2 connecting rooms, she suggested builing 45 or 51, for Dec 26 - Jan 2.

Now I gotta keep it all to myself  until Christmas

Oh definately pick bldg 45--we stayed there in June--very close to the bridge that goes over to Old Port Royal---I loved it..I asked for this location for our next trip also!!! Have a great time!!!

Anyone know the difference in room size between a king bed room and a double bed room? I'm planning on staying at CBR for my Honeymoon & wanted something a little more nicer, like the King bed room. However, I don't want the size of the room to be smaller. Also, am I still able to get a preferred room along with a king bed room? Thanks for your help.

The size of the actual room will be the same but there will be more space available beacuse one king bed is smaller than 2 double beds. I dont know about the prefered room with a king sorry.

Hello all.
We will be stay at this hotel at the end of April. I'm wondering about the pools. How deep are the kiddie pools? The quiet pools look rather shallow as well. Is this the case?
Thank you.

I can't remember the exact depth of the kiddie pool, but I wanna say it is around 1 foot. the quiet pools do have a deep end in them as well. I believe they start at around 3 ft and they go to at least 6' if not a little more. I know in September there was part of it that I could not keep my head above water and I'm almost 5'8".

Ok I just looked at my picutes from the Jamaica quiet pool:
3'
4'
4' 6"
5' 6"
6' I can't make out the inches
I hope that helps some

It is about a 5 to 10 min walk. You won't notice it because there is so much to look at.

There are only 3 T.V. shows that are "must sees" for DH and I, and they are all starting to wind up the season during the week we are there. Would there be a problem with our hooking up a VCR to the T.V. in our room at CBR?

jeanadave,
Friends of ours did this last year and had no problem. At CBR the tvs have the red, yellow, and white colored plug holes (totally wrong terminology so hopefully that makes sense) right in the front of the Tv which is nice (accesible by flipping down a little panel).

Oh, thanks so much! I just didn't trust any of my friends to actually tape my shows for me :lmao: Can't miss "24", "Lost" or "American Idol"!!

We are going back this June to CBR for our fourth stay :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: Cant wait!! My question is have they come out with a new mug since last June? In 2004 we got the fatter mugs, and last year we got the travel size. I love collecting the mugs, keeps me in the Disney mood back at home! If they did not change them I guess will get the fat mugs.

I seem to remember that you need to book a King room if that's what you want - then you can request which buildings/areas you'd like and they try to grant your request. If you book preferred location, you may not get a king room. We booked the King, and then requested two locations and got our first choice.

The preferred category was sold out, so I am going to fax the hotel a few days prior to our arrival and request a room close to the front.

Close to the front of the resort? If you want to be close to the food court and main pool you should ask for Jamaica or Aruba. The front desk is in a separate building with nothing but the front desk and cruise line check in and lobby concierge.

Ok, I need some help please. We have down graded from AKL to Pop due to some medical bills and I'm very sad about that but.... I'm thinking there isn't that much of a difference between value to mod so I'm scoping some out. I'm intrigued by CBR. I've stayed at CSR and I loved it. But heres my dillema. At pop we will have preferred rooms but if I go up to mod I wouldn't want to splurge on that. And my concern is that we will have a very long walk at the end of a tiring day. Is this resort worth that? Or is there locations that we could request that wouldn't be charged for preferred? Then of cource hope that we get those request.

How's the transportation? If you are far from the food court should you get on a bus and get off at a closer stop? :confused3 Is there a table service restaurant on site?

Thanks in advance.

:wave2: ktink,

Next to AKL CBR is my other favorite resort

I think CBR is worth it IMHO. I really enjoy the theming and the feel the resort gives me. Plus each village has its own stop so you are never far from your room assuming you get off at your stop.

My favorite island is Jamaica and I usually request Jamiaca buildings 44, 45, or 46. They are close to the bridge that leads to the main pool and food court. Also they are close to the Jamaica quiet pool, playground, and bus stop. Aruba is also a good spot to be for non preferred.

I think the tranportation is good. CBR does not share with any other resorts and it maybe takes 5-7 minutes to zip around the resort to pick up all the stops (of course this depends where you are located)

CBR does have an internal bus that goes around the resort. Also you can always ask a bus that pulls up if they have stopped by Old Port Royale (food court, shops, aracade, main pool, Shutters, bar) yet and hop on and jump off once you get to Old Port Royale.

Yes there is it is called Shutters.
