I would also suggest MGM as that is the closest park to CBR and from the bus drop off point it is not a long walk to the boat launch (like it is at Epcot) at the Studios (or you can take the walking path).

For the Poly I have had the best luck just taking a bus to the MK and then monorailing over.

Thanks for the info, I knew i could count on the DIS (and scoutsmom99!!!)

was just wondering if anyone's son has tried the new Pirate Cruise at CBR. Is it worth the $30? I thought this would be something nice for my DS-7 and DS-4 to do together and for me and the DH to get a little private time to ourselves.

I haven't seen any reports yet, but I belive they just started taking ressies on Feb 9th or so and it is only offered on Tuesday. I bet we will see some reviews after people start getting back from Spring Break trips.

Can anyone tell me if there is high speed internet access in the typical guestrooms at CBR? Trying to decide whether or not to bother to take the laptop!

Anybody know if DS who will be 3 months shy of his 4th B-day can do this. Is the 4 yeard old limit a strict one??

Does anyone know roughly how much a Taxi would cost from POP Century to the CBR? My friends are staying there and will have to come to the CBR to catch the DCL bus..I have looked about transferring luggage--but that would come too late...or does anyone have any suggestions??? Thanks so much in advance!!

I read in an earlier post that all the rooms in CBR are the same except for the bedding. Does anybody know which rooms are decorated in the vibrant colors and which rooms have a more muted decor?

I have requested Jamaica because it looks as close as you can get to the main pool without paying for the preferred rooms. About how far of a walk is it to the main pool?

:tink: TIA

We stayed in building 45 in Jamaica and LOVED IT!!! It was GREAT!!! we were the first bus to be picked up so we usually got a seat, and the first to get dropped off in the afternoon so no LONG bus rides!!! The walk over the bridge/island to the foodcourt and shop was very nice and really pleasant at night when we would stop on the bridge to watch the EPCOT fireworks. Thanks for all of your advise and information. It was very helpful. I also enjoyed the fact that CBR was the only resort on the bus and did not have to make a ton of other resort stops.

We just loved our Jamaica room too!!! the building was being painted while we were there and the colors were SO Bright and sunny!!!

Thanks again for all the info, I am SURE we will be staying here again!!!

Does anybody have a link to the room service menu at CBR? Just wondering mostly if they have Mickey pancakes or waffles available for room service?

Anybody just recently back, do they still have the bedtime story channel in the rooms? If so, what stories did you hear, what time does it come on?

Finally, I need more specifics about this wake up call. Sounds too cute--is it Mickey? What does the caller say?

TIA! :wave2:

We just got back and were pretty lucky for all bus trips, but I would give yourself at least 30 min but closer to 45 for bus travel if you have ADR's we had ressies at Donalds at AK also and since it was EMH and the furthest park from CBR we gave 50 minute window for travel, good thing too because when we got to the park (in less than 30 min) the lines to get through bag check and the entrance were HUGE!!! that took about 20 minutes. but we did get to breakfast intime. Getting to MK was quicker with the bus, we did decide to take a bus to EPCOT and ride the MONORAIL in too, a little longer, but just as nice.

Have a good trip.

6th visit to CBR this May and just wondering...

How much for the refillable mugs?

Anyone know if there is a Calypso Band playing by the Banana Cabana at night?

Thanks,
Nancy

We just paid $24 for 2 mugs last weekend. and still using them at home :teeth:

Wow...I remember my first mug cost only $6.99. Still worth it if you hang around the resort.

Anyone remember the Calypso Band from a few years ago? They played twice during the week and once on Saturday night. I did ask about them last time at CBR (2004) and was told they had to cut costs and unfortunatley the band had to go, but may return at any time.

Thanks for the prompt responses.

Anyone know if Melanie is still in Mousekeeping? She is our favorite Mousekeeper in Aruba building 51. We would love to request her again. If anyone knows if she is still there, or if she moved to a different "village" can you please let me know?

Anyone know if CBR can give me that info over the phone?

Again, thanks for any responses.

WE just got back from afantastic stay at CBR!

I requested the Jamaica section, so that I could be close to to thae main pool and the food court for breakfast.

We recieved a preferred location in Trindad North that was better than I hoped for!
The room was 3152.
Write that number down folks because it is a super location.
It offers a great view of Ecot's Illuminations from the rail in front of your door.

At Check in she said we could have the room immediately- that was at 12:00 noon what a bonus.
I also told her that we needed bed rails and a crib, she said she would take care of it.

The room was very clean and the mousekeeping did a very good job!
I saw mousekeeping steamcleaning carpet in the rooms.

As we were un loading the luggage, mouse keeping showed up with the rail & crib. Excellant !!!

The location was great - it was very close to the themed pool which was very helpful with 2 toddlers.

It was a quick run to get breakfast in the morning.

Staff was very helpful consistantly.

Bus service was always timely.

Food court was not as good as POR.

Overall it was a 10/10.
