Food court is open until 11. There is a sit down restaurant also. Food varies from burgers and fries, chicken, pizza, sandwiches. Pretty much standard fast food type stuff. There is also the grab and go market that has snacks and stuff that changes with the time of day.
From my May trip, I recall the food court to have a much wider selection than just typical fast food stuff. They have a deli stall that in addition to both traditional and interesting deli sandwiches also had a really, really good item they called Asian Chicken Salad that was really tasty: udon noodles, romaine, various veggies, moist cubes of chicken, and a really good, strong Asian salad dressing made with sesame oil. It was served in a modified Chinese food take-out container (with a round bottom and no lid flaps) along with chopsticks.

The pizza place has pasta, as well. Even better, at least to me, they had an absolutely mouth-watering "hand-tossed chicken caesar salad." I love making my own Caesar dressing and almost never order Caesar salad in restaurants, but it looked really good, and it tasted even better. It turns out they have a great system to make it fresh. The CM pulls a heaping plate of romaine lettuce out of a refrigerated drawer and dumps the lettuce into a refrigerated bowl that sits recessed in a modified sandwich board. She then adds measured scoops of chicken cubes, grated parmasean cheese, croutons, and dressing, and then hand-tosses it in that recessed bowl. When it's all done, she plates it on the original plate the lettuce was on, then tops it off with more parmasean cheese and a warm breadstick. I highly recommend both of the above salads.

I also recall one of the stalls having some hot foods such as grilled fish, veggie sides, etc.

The food court is not gourmet cuisine, but it definitely has more than just standard fast food.

ENJOY!

Mmm, good thing I am making supper right now! It sounds like there will be something for each of us. All the salads sound wonderful as we will be there in June!

Thanks for all the feed back! :goodvibes

Other than pizza delivery, does the CBR have room service? Thanks

safetymom or anyone else, can you tell me more about breakfast? In particular I am wondering about cereal. DH HAS to have his cereal, and not just those little single servings with the peel back top  He thinks we are going to need to take a box or two and some disposible bowls  Do they have those little boxes, again not anymore in them compared to the throw away bowls. How much are the bowls/boxes? Any information you have would be a great help

Well, we're back and we loooooved the CBR!

We paid extra for a preferred room and were in Martinique, Building 26, rooms 2030 and 2031, which were on the first floor, opened onto a courtyard and had the connecting door that we requested. PERFECT! 2m. walk to the OPR bus stop, 3m. to OPR, 4m. to the quiet pool and laundry, but still surprisingly quiet. We never heard our neighbors above us and only occasionally saw anyone walking past.

Mousekeeping was awesome - towel people, towel animals, a towel clown! They set up the kids stuffed animals in the window for a few days. Then they put the masks we made at Epcot in the window and started setting up the animals on the bed - Tigger reading to the rest, or the whole bunch watching TV - very cute! My kids couldn't wait to get back to the room every day to see what our Mousekeeper had done! Oh - the rooms were pretty clean too!! We left a small tip (I wanted to leave $10., my husband didn't think it was really necessary, so we compromised with $5.) in an envelope with an Alice in Wonderland graphic, as well as a personal note each day. We had plenty of left over bottled water so we left a note asking them to take it as we couldn't take it on the plane with us.

OPR was pretty nice. I thought some of the meals were overpriced (over $2. for a bagel!??!!) but we had the meal plan so I decided not to look at the prices anymore. The food ranged from ok to pretty tasty and it was only crowded on our last two days.

The shop was good, with a surprisingly big selection. We even bought cold medicine there!

The big pool and slide were great, the little kids pool was a perfect size and depth and the quiet pool was unexpectedly large. The laundry room was clean and I got quite a lot of wash done in one afternoon!

The bus service was good. Our longest wait was 30 m. for a MK bus, and we waited for a bus to Epcot one morning for 20m. All the other waits were 5m. and under. We sat more often than we stood, but we were prepared to stand so it wasn't that big a deal.

I guess that's all I have to say about the CBR - except to add that it was just lovely!

I didn't see refrigerators mentioned in the ammenties of CBR. (I might have missed it) I was told when I made my reservation in September 2005 that each room also had a fridge for no additional fee.

Im staying at the CBR from 12/25 to 12/31. Im a little worried about the atmosphere at x-mas time. I mean I love the tropical feel and all but really want to have that holiday spirit as well. Do they decorate very much at this resort? Thanks! :goodvibes

We loved CBR at Christmas. It was decorated with a tropical theme. I still felt like it was Christmas.

This might be mentioned before, but can someone recommend a location
close Old Port Royale, that is not a preferred location. We are booked
for 8 nights and the preferred room was not available. I can already
feel the pain in my shoulders from carrying my 40lb 3 year old. According
to the map, it looks like Jamaica might be close, is this true? We
visited CBR a few years ago, but I just can't remember what was
a good building.

We were in Jamaica Bldg 45 this past June---IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! Very close to the pool and the bridge that goes over to OPR...I would recommend that bldg in a heartbeat!! And it was gorgeous as well---all the flowers and greenery---You will love it---Have a great trip!!!

You took the words right out of my mouth! We are looking for a good location to the buses and OPR, and we really don't have the extra $ for a preferred room, and I am sure at the end of the day our 2.9yr old, 6yr old, and 9yr old will be pooped! Who am I kidding, my DH and myself will be pooped! So we will let our TA ask about the Jamaica building or Aruba building. Thanks for the scoop Safetymom! We are so excited to be staying at the CBR. The POP is where we were going to stay, but with the December codes, we stretched the budget and for about $130 more CBR will be our home from 12/7-12/12!! Just can't wait!!! :sunny:

Just subscribing! We're going in December and I love reading all the information provided here. Thanks! :wave2:

O.K. all of you CBR fans...here on the Resort Link, there is a thread, Best Moderate Hotel, the CBR is at the bottom of the barrel, get over there and vote for CBR!!! ;)
