Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ

You will love CBR. I don't think there is a bad place to stay(unless you don't like walking and they put you in Trinidad South) in CBR.

It is so beautiful when you walk around the lake. The quiet pools are great. Also this is where the laundry rooms are so you can do laundry if you need to while you sit by the pool.

I stayed at the CBR last summer and loved it. I just changed my reservation back to the CBR for our upcoming trip. I'm going to buy a new home, and I really want to save some money on my trip and at the same time stay in a lovely place. I drove last summer but now I'm flying. We will be arriving around 11:00 p.m. that night. My question is do they transport you to your room and how or do I need to keep the towncar service around and have them transport me to the room?

Could someone recommend a specific building(s) I could request that would be not too far from both pool and food court? I will probably book a water view room (assuming that's an option--it was at POFQ).

I probably won't do any laundry, and the bus stops aren't important -- mainly food and pool.

Martinique and Trinidad North are the closest to the the food court and main pool. I suggest you read back through the FAQ and you will see many have commented on this. Each village also has a quiet pool.

I've never been to this resort, so I can't picture the layout too well. Is check-in in the same area as the food court? Like at POR, POFQ, and the All-Stars? And how far is it from bell services (where is that?) to a bus stop? For example, if I want to check out and leave my luggage with bell services, then take the bus to a park, where is it? Yes, I know I could have bell services come to my room to pick up my luggage, but somehow I feel better bringing my own luggage to bell services.

Custom House is where check in/out and bell services is, food court/ main pool are at OPR. There is a bus stop at Barbados right across the street from CH.
This is also the stop you take if you are on an internal bus going to CH.

Don't know why I didn't think of checking a MAP!?!
Here's the link Simba's Mom if it helps you any. It's helped me!

That's it! only 3!!!!

I think these are the only smoking buildings, gumdrop, so I suppose all others would be non-smoking.

Thank you, jcemom for the info! Now another question...which village do you think is the quietest or most relaxed? We are going on our honeymoon trip to CBR! Any suggestions? Location is not a problem, we're just looking for a non-smoking area that is the most quiet. Thanks for any help!

Hi, gumdrop! We stayed at CBR a few weeks ago, and we LOVED it! The whole resort has a very relaxing ambience, so I think you will be happy almost anywhere. You may want to request a building away from the quiet pools, though, because they're open 24 hours a day, and you might end up with a lot of people walking by your window.

You may also want to steer clear of Trinidad North and Martinique because they are in the busiest area--right next door to the food court, main pool, and gift shop. I think all the other villages are pretty quiet.

We stayed in Aruba and didn't hear a peep from anyone the whole time. I liked being in a quiet area, but we were also close enough to the bridge across Parrot Cay Island that it was only a 10-minute walk to the food court area. Jamaica is also a good location, but I noticed it seemed a lot "busier"--maybe because of the playground. Barbados may also be a good location for you, but it's a little further away from the bridge.

Don't just request "quiet" because they'll put you in Trinidad South. I know you said you didn't care about location, but it just seemed way too isolated to me (maybe that's what you're looking for, though ;) ) I liked looking across the water and seeing Old Port Royale and the other villages. Trinidad South is kind of outside the loop of villages, and you'd have to cross the main road circling the resort to get out.

Since PO is closing, it looks like I'm CBR bound...:D I've really enjoyed this thread and wanted to thank you all for your information and insight. I hope to be at CBR May 5-10 with my brother.

Is the only bar at CBR at the pool? And what time does it close? We are going May 15 for five nights and I know that sometimes in the off season they close the pool bar early. We like to enjoy an adult beverage and relax after leaving the parks.

Thanks, tiggeroo for the great information! I think Aruba sounds like a good choice for us! In fact, I was originally thinking Trinidad South because of what it said in the Birnbaum's guide for adults..."For honeymoon-like isolation, request a room in Trinidad South." I don't think I want to be that isolated though--could you just give me more info about its location? I wasn't sure what you meant by crossing the main road to leave it--does that mean we would have to cross traffic to get to Port Royale? Yikes! Thanks for any help!!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents of when we have stayed at CBR. Re: location...for our honeymoon we stayed in Jamaica and LOVED it!! The bridge over to the main pool was such a nice walk..not too long. The last time we stayed at CBR we were put in Trinidad South. (this was before I found the dis boards and figured out I could at least put in a request!) I felt Trinidad South was so isolated and really did NOT like the walk. We are going again in November with ds..4 and are hoping for Martinique or Trinidad North....but would be happy with Jamaica too!

:D Ditto for me!:D

I had my heart set on POFQ, but the more I hear about CBR, maybe the closing is a blessing in disguise. I think my boys may enjoy CBR more!

I do have another question though, has anyone requested a specific village/building #, and how good are they about fulfilling the requests? I'm sure a lot depends on availability, but do you think requesting a specific building would be asking for too much?
I'm sure we'll be happy anywhere as long as it's not TOO far from food court and main pool area. But after checking out that map, I do have preferences.

4 days prior to arriving I faxed a building request for Trinidad North 31 or Martinique 21 and I got Trinidad North when I checked in. I think you are better off to ask for a building then a room request....JMO

Ok. I'll be staying in the CBR I just made my reservation..

As you can tell am new the to the these boards.

What is this thing about the faxing in request..

What should I request I want to be close to the food court and bus stop.

I will be going with my in-laws as I said and maybe my 13 year old sister is there any way to sneak her in the room w/out the CM seeing her????

you can fax a building/room request 4 days prior to checking in to CBR the number is#407-934-3288. Be nice and polite and remember that it is a request and not a guarentee...although I go just what I asked for. As for 5 in a room at CBR....that would be a no-no
