how is the water view rooms. Are they worth the preferred price?

Personally, I wouldn't pay the extra money for a water view room -- they could be a marginal view of a quiet pool, just as easily as a full window view of the lake. If you're going to spend the extra money, preferred location would be a better use of the money, at least for me.

One other note... just returned today from a short last-minute stay at Pop. We had fun, but as our bus drove to a park one afternoon, I pointed through the trees where we could see CBR as we drove past... it was so cool to see the smiles instantly come across my teenage sons' faces! We just love CBR and cannot wait to stay there next June!!!

I played around with reservation dates on the WDW web site and the first day it gave me the option of choosing a pirate room was Jan. 24. HTH!

On the last CBR Resort FAQ (2), there are two marina plans that are listed, the family plan and the captains plan. Are either of these still available, or some similar thing? Or has everything gone a la carte?

These plans are no longer available unfortunately, the only plan that includes any marina usage is the MYW Premium Package.

I know when we went last time we requested a smoking bldg which used to be bldg 51 in Aruba. That was a great place since all you had to do is cross the bridge to go to the food court. Now seeing the smoking option is gone we have gone with the preferred room choice to stay close to the food court area. I guess it depends on how much walking you want to do.

We have stayed at the CBR twice and are headed back in just 2 days. I had to book a preferred location (that's all they had left) for our upcoming trip but hated spending the extra money.

In all honesty, I didn't mind the walk, at all, from a standard room location. The resort landscraping and surrounds are so beautiful, it makes the walk very pleasant. When we stayed in Jamaica Building 41, our walk to Old Port Royale might have taken 5 minutes.

That is my confusion, is the Medical Needs room is the same as handicap accessible room? I need to ask my TA.

I've noticed new Disney packages of sliced apples and other fruits and veggies in our local produce section. I've also seen boxes of raisins and craisin type snacks online. I was wondering if anything like these (or other neat Disney snacks) were available at the Grab and Go market at CBR? Or anywhere else around the resort? I think DD would get a kick out of eating Mickey snacks on our trip.

They have just started the refurbishment at CBR. Building 24 is done, they are working on Building 25. I don't think they have started on the Pirate themed rooms yet.
