Most of the construction is done with the pool. They were cleaning and sealing the pool deck over the weekend but the main construction is done. All the photos of the updates of the pool construction are in the first post on this FAQ.

Do you have any idea when it will be completed? Sounds like they are way ahead of schedule. We are arriving this weekend and would love to see the new pool!

I just wanted to jump on board and HI! We are planning a Dec 4-13 2009 vacation and I have now officially decide to book CBR! :thumbsup2

My families (me, DH, DD10 and DD8) last trip in 2006 was at POFQ which we loved! We planned on booking that again but the dates coincide w/ PW week. So I started looking at other mods. I (and my DD's) was drawn to CBR right away because of the themeing but like many people, I heard that CBR wasn't as "nice" as some of the others. The more research I did the more I like it and the less concerned I was about the negative reviews.

Now that they are refurbishing the rooms I am even more excited! Thank you everyone for all the great info you provide. I never would have thought to book this hotel before reading this thread. I look forward to seeing more great updates in the future! :thumbsup2 Now just counting the weeks.....

:goodvibes

I just have to say how thrilled I am that my family is going to be staying at CBR for Christmas!!

I can't wait to swim in the new pool!! The motif reminds me sooooo much of El Morro in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico! I love it! Does anyone know if that was their intent?

I am going to CBR August 27 - Sept. 3. I am so excited that we will get to swim in the new pool.

I am so excited that I had to share this somewhere!!

I just booked our trip for December 2009 at the CBR and we booked the new "Pirate" Room.! Are there any renderings of what the rooms will look like?

From the looks of the pictures taken of the remodeled rooms the fridges appear to be gone. Has anyone heard if they are removing them or have they just been removed during the remodel? The pictures on all ears would indicate that they are gone for good. For us this is a major issue, we love having a fridge and consider a major plus over the value resorts.

Any help would be appriciated.

The fridges have been moved into the cabinet area of the new dresser. If you look at it carefully, there are 4 drawers on 1 side and the cabinet and another drawer on the other. So you should be ok.

Thanks!! It would seem that they are shorter than they used to be, but atleast they are still there. Now I just have to wait until December!!!

We're going to be there from the 24th Aug to the 7th Sep and can't wait for the new pool to be opened. They might even throw a bit of an opening party for us!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Does anyone have any thoughts on the best village to book into to get easy access to the pool, bus stops, and food court?

A few years ago we stayed in building #51, aruba. It was a short, relaxing walk over the bridge for the food court, as for the buses each village has thier own bus area/stop.

2009 rates have been released. Looks like the room prices are the same as last year for the most part. The Pirate Themed rooms are an extra $25+tax/night.

Does anyone know when all the nemo rooms will be finished. I want one of the new rooms and we'll be there 12-12 and want to request Martinque. Do you think all of Martinque will be done by then?

Safetymom said that Martinique 24 was already finished and they are working on Martinique 25. I sounds like they are moving at a pretty quick pace so I am sure that they'll be finished by December.

I am waiting for my AAA rep to call me back right now. My kids seen that there is going to be a pirate themed room and they went nuts! We have stayed at CBR before and now we are ready to go back and try the new pool and see the new rooms.

I last stayed at CBR in 2004, in the Aruba section. Since the rooms will be getting refurbished and the new pool area will be opened, I am now thinking of booking CBR instead of FQ. However, I would want to stay in a preferred room. I know Martinique is one of those areas, but what are the other preferred areas? Is it both Trinidad North and Barbados? I can't remember.

Also, for those of you who have stayed in one of the preferred areas, which one is your favorite, and which one is closest to everything?

Thanks for any comments! :goodvibes

how is the water view rooms. Are they worth the preferred price?
