Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

So, we have a trip November 22-30. I tried getting a preferred room and they were all booked . Sooo we put in a request for a room in Jamaica, first floor. What are our chances of getting a room there?

You have a one in six chance of getting the village you requested!

Are the pirate rooms going to be in Trinidad South only? (sorry if this has already been covered )

My boys would flip if they could stay in a pirate room! But we really love the location of Jamaica. Hmm. . . maybe we should request either and see what we get! Any idea when all the new room decor will be done? I have nearly 6 months until my trip.

I am glad they are not doing all rooms as pirate rooms

I understand why they are doing it and it will be fab for kids but I love the old CBR

I'm glad too. I don't think DH would want to stay in a pirate room.

So....Are there going to be Pirates of the Caribbean AND Nemo themed Rooms? When will these be finished, or at least some of them able to be stayed in?

Yes there are going to be two styles of rooms. The Pirate rooms will only be in Trinidad South. The Nemo rooms will be in the rest of the resort. They are going building by building for the Nemo rooms.

I haven't heard when they are starting on the Pirate rooms.

The entrance of the Shutters restaurant at the Caribbean Beach rEsort will be demolished and rebuilt with a new look.

Having not been to the resort yet, I will ask a naive question. Does the Shutters entrance face the main pool area? I guess it would make sense if they are retheming the pool environment to have it blend.

Sure sounds like Disney is pouring a lot of money into CBR updates this year!

The entrance to Shutters is from inside the building ... it doesn't have its own entrance from the outside. The entrance to Shutters is at just about the "end" of the food court serving counters (they are arranged in a line).

Does anyone have any updated pics of the pool and how it is coming along? I leave in 26 days and would love an update.

I was just over there. No pictures since there was a full crew working. The slide is finished. They were cleaning or doing something with the cement that had a noxious smell. There was a hose in the main pool but I doubt that is how they are filling it.

If I get a chance some evening I will go get pictures.

I asked a CM at lobby concierge if the new beds were full or queen. He said I guess they are full size. So you guess is as good as mine if he knew what he was talking about.

I don't like taking pictures over the fence when there are workers there. I don't know if they prefer not to have their face on the Internet.

No I don't feel right doing that. They used to not work on the weekends.

Can anyone tell me do you have to pay for the lockers at the pool, if so how much, and are they a key lock or a code?

Great pictures! I can't tell if the Pirate ship will be part of the main pool, or is it like a kiddie pool?

Don't know about the lockers until they open the new pool.

I took the photos (of the CBR pool area), I don't have a problem getting workers in the pictures - I don't think about it when taking the T-Rex or AKV pics, or any other update photos (which rarely are above a fence, but often have a zoom on them).

There are many times I'm very careful about photos - like taking pictures of a pool with people in it. Or if I'm taking photos around guests, I don't want them to look like they are posing for photos for me.

The pool area looks like it will be very nice!
