thanx safetymom, i have just posted on the uk forum, to see if my travel agent will accommodate me, and if they are to be relied upon to see my request through,

thanx again

If you go to the first post of this thread there are links to photos of the pool construction. I don't have a photo or drawing of the new complex.

We have decided on CBR for our Nov trip:goodvibes Just a few questions.

1. We would like a 1st floor corner room closer to the parking area just not facing it any ideas on how to word this request or a room number suggestion?

2.We will have a 19 month old and a 14 year old with us is there a better area? Should I pay for preferred?

Safetymom, I can't get the link to the latest set of pool construction photos to work. Can you post it again please!

Requesting specific room numbers is, statistically speaking, a bad way to request a room. Chances are that that exact room number is taken, and then the rooms assigner will have no way of knowing WHY you want that room number, and you'll just get any old rom at the time of check-in. Putting your room requests into brief, easily-understood terms is you best bet.

The way you worded it here works pretty well!

Put your words in the order of the importance of the request. In other words, if you primary desire is a corner room, then near parking, and then first floor, then request "corner room, near parking, first floor" and so on.

CBR's foliage is lush enough that even if your room faces in the direction of the parking lot, you're not going to feel face to face with an SUV's grill.

Preferred location at CBR means a room in one of the six buildings closest to Old Port Royale. If the shortest possible walk to main pool/food court/shops/arcade is worth extra money to you, then go with preferred. But if that sort of location means little to you, then don't bother paying the extra charge.

I have a question; does anyone know how the room numbers are determined at CBR? I read the CBR FAQ, but it doesn't list that? If you stay in Jamaica, bldg. 45, do the room #'s start with 45? I called to request Jamaica, building 45 (it's not a preferred location, but it's right next to the bridge going to OPR). I want to know if this is a good location.

Also, does it have a courtyard or corner room? If I'm in the front of Jamaica 45, do I get charged for a water view? Please help....:confused3

Safetymom:

Would you rather have Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 and is there a corner room that is in a courtyard?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

Oh, forgot to ask, do you get charged xtra for a water view? or a courtyard room?

You get charged extra for a water view room, no for courtyard. Either choice is great. I forget what building I had in Aruba but we had a first floor courtyard room. It was great.

Here's the view we had from the door of our courtyard room, Trinidad North 3128 (Building 31) -- can't beat a courtyard view for me! We sat at the tables, ate pizza, relaxed, so quiet and awesome!

One more question...:rolleyes1 (sorry)

Is it better to get a room on the 1st or 2nd floor?

Does it bother you to walk up steps? We prefer first floor but have had many second floor rooms with no problems. No difference in the noise factor.

Thanks. I was thinking it might have been noisier, but if that's not a factor, I think 1st floor, Jamaica 45, in a corner, courtyard is my final decision! Do you think this is to much to request of the CM?:lmao:

As safetymom said, all buildings have corner rooms, and all buildings have some courtyard view rooms.

If you don't reserve and pay for a water view, then you will NOT be asked to pay for it if they happen to give you a water view room when you check in. In other words, if you happen to get lucky, they won't tell you you must pay for it or you can't check in.
