Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

I have a few questions for you CBR experts. Does each village have it's own laundry room? Also what time does the pool open? Does anyone know if they have a place where they do hairwraps? My DD loves getting one on our Disney trips. Is there any things I should not miss while at this resort???

Thanks a bunch,
Nichole

We will be there same time as you I think we arrive 10/7 ... we were looking for a place to have our DD's hair done too. See you at the pool !!!!

I am not sure what you mean by the old slide because the slides are new. There is one that empties into the deep end of the pool and a separate one.

The roof has not been tiled on the bathroom building next to the pool.

The slide that was located at OPR before it went down for rehab is still in place, slightly modified so you cannot swim underneath it and also refinished, otherwise it is exactly the same as before.

And yes the roof has not yet been tiled yet, they are currently waiting for a temporary roof but they cannot install it while it is raining. After the tiles come in they will replace the temporary roof (most likely after the pool is already open) but this will not affect the pool at all.

:cool1: How old is your DD? My DD is 8 but is tiny for her age. Our DS is 4. Hope to see you there, don't forget your lime green Mickeyhead :goodvibes .

Each village has its own laundry room - next to pool area. Usually they have hair wrapping by OPR (the main pool and food court area), but we haven't been since Dec. 2006.

Check out the island - the bridge that crosses the lake has a nice island area. You can rent bikes and ride around the lake. You can see Epcot fireworks from beach area by OPR. Take your time walking and you'll enjoy the resort and not feel over whelmed by its size.

Sounds great! We plan on renting Surrey bikes this trip so that will be a great way to see everything.

HI! we have two DD's 7 (will be 8 in Nov, very tall for her age) and 11 ... so I imagine if your daughter is anything like our girls we will be meeting for sure! They love meeting new people and will be just as happy hanging out with new friends as they will be on the rides.

I have not been to Disney (or on vacation for that matter) since 1999 so clue me in ... what is a lime green Mickeyhead ? do tell.

Sorry if this info is posted somewhere. I am trying to get a last minute trip together her for October :) Which villages of CBR have been remodeled??? Is it still a work in progress?? Thanks!

They are the Mickey head paint samples you get from home depot. The DIS color is called Alien green. You will know someone is from DIS if they have a Lime greeen mickeyhead tag, Lime green ribbons or sometimes a lime green Tshirt. I have to say on my first trip as a disser I didn't advertise I was a Disser :rotfl2: worried about crazies from the internet. The last 2 trips I made my own DIS tags. But if you see us (kids in avatar and our pics are in our trip report) come say hello.

wow ... I have been living under a rock I guess!! ... it's official we need to get out / away more. Will have some green something some place now that I know the secret!

Looking forward to the island someone mentioned a few posts ago.

Does CBR have these? We're taking a family vacation with the parents and my sister and I are too old and too "cool" to be bunking with them.... :o)

I finally booked our 1st Family WDW vacation.

Oct.20-24

I requested North Trinidad or Martinique (My disabled mom, might came, so we need a ground floor and not too far from things.)

I will fax them 3 days before reminding them about a ground floor and if possible North Trinidad or Martinique.

I am making out our attack plan of the parks!

Mon: Dinner at Gullivers
Wed: Breakfast at Ohana
Thurs: Breakfast at Donalds
Fri: Breakfast at Crystal Palace

I will have my HD Mickey on my bag :) I am very shy, but please say "hi"!

Ok...just gotta pack now :O and start training for this walkcation :)

Some of the Martinique buildings are being remodeled. Bldg. 24 has already been converted to the new Nemo rooms. I believe they are either finished or close to being finished with Martinique 25. We were there last week and, in all honesty, I couldn't tell that there was any construction going on at all. We walked all around the resort and didn't see anything but the pool construction. By the way, we were in Building 24.

We were in Martinique Building 24. Our corner room number was 2425 and there were connecting doors in our room.

When we were there last week, they had lots of scheduled activities at the resort. I don't know if they were doing this because the main pool was closed. They had hoola hoop contests, movies, family night and others. Several of the activities took place on the island.

Humm...it just says Standard View...I must check if we have a Preferred Room.

Our Trip will be a walkcation...I had good feet until pregnancy and then they just spread carrying over 90 extra pounds....I am sneaker challenged. I was thinking of trying to wear crocs for part of the time...we will see. I am glad that I gave you a good laugh

Yes, but there's some teminology used at WDW when it comes to rooms... "Adjoining rooms" are rooms that are next to each other. Having said that, they may or may not have a door between them.

"Connecting rooms" have a door between them that allows you to walk from one room to another.

You can request either of these, but I'm not sure the when's and why's of how they are granted. I've been told by CM's on the phone that they try to make sure parents and kids are indeed together -- and that's been my experience. Safetymom can probably give you the best answer to this question.:thumbsup2

I can relate to pregnancy feet. Don't think I would be able to go to Disney. Crocs should be easier for tired feet. If you can book preferred than i would if I were you. Otherwise non preferred in Jamaica, Matinque, or Aruba will be good. Check out the map of the resort for specific buildings that wil be good locations.

Thanks for the info! Well if I really do go thru with my plan, go at the end of October, stay at CBR, I would love to have a newly remodeled Nemo room! So did you just have to pay extra for the prefered room and got lucky with the Nemo room, or did you request it?
