Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

Water view and preferred are usually the same price. I would call back and tell them you want a preferred room. Martinique would be a request because Trinidad North is also preferred.

Hi everyone, I am new to the dis boards and DH, DD(3) and myself will be staying at CBR Feb26-Mar5:goodvibes for the first time and when I booked the trip I booked a standard room but didn't request a certain building. Since learning about the new nemo rooms, I would love to stay in one but was wondering if I can still request to have a new nemo room when we check-in or is it too late? Thanks, Kristen

More than likely you will have a Nemo room if you are staying in a standard room. They are all done. If you were staying in a preferred room there would be a chance you wouldn't have a new room.

Thank you safetymom:) I was starting to worry that I should have requested a certain building in order to get a new room.

I have a question, are all the rooms in Trinidad South Pirate rooms or are there any standard rooms there too.

We had 2 standard rooms booked, and now my SIL decided that they will come too. The only thing available are the Pirate rooms, so I booked that for her. The CM said that he will note to put us all together in Trinidad. Is that possible or are we going to be spread out through the resort.

This is our first time at CBR and I basically picked it because of the pool for my 2 boys, but I a little intimidated by the size of it.

Thanks.

They will all be pirate rooms. I don't know if they have all been converted yet. I would ask again in check in to be together.

Does anyone know what buildings were smoking buildings?

Also, would Jamacia be the closest to the food court without getting a preferred?

Yes Jamaica is the closest. I wouldn't worry about where the smoking rooms were. All the carpet has been replaced, rooms painted, mattress and furniture is new.

Why do you say there is a chance that if you had a preferred room it may not be a new room? Did they not update all the preferred rooms? We are staying in a preferred room in December and was expecting it to be new. I requested Martinique 25. A preferred room may not be worth it to us then, I'd rather a new room than it being closer to POR. Thanks for answering.

Martinique is done. Trinidad North is being worked on now. By December no worries they will all be new.

safetymom was correct about all of the "soft goods" being replaced. All Disney resort rooms have been smoke-free since June 1, 2007, so it's not like anything is still lingering.

Jamaica and Aruba are mirror-images of each other ... they are both the same distance from OPR.

I don't think I asked this yet :confused3
Does anyone know how many connecting rooms CBR has? That was the only request I had and am really hoping we get it!
Thanks!!

We are happily checking in to CBR 2/14, non preferred, 5 rooms (Grand Gathering)! I am pretty sure my mother requested close to OPR but non-preferred. Does anyone know of any areas that are construction zones right now that I want to avoid? I have heard that Trinidad South quiet pool is closed so I probably want to avoid that area. Any other tips? Thanks.:cool1:

You should be fine. Several have reported here that Trinidad North is the last area to have the rooms converted to the Nemo theme, but it's a preferred location so you wouldn't be there. The other thing is that with the lush foliage and the way CBR is set-up, construction could be nearby and you might not even realize it! Have a great trip!:thumbsup2

My family(me, my husband, daugther 7yo, son 4 yo, my mom & dad) just finalized our trip to CBR for our first ever trip to disney and the CBR! I am so excited When I upgraded from the POP earlier this week, they told me they only had 1 pirate room and 1 standard room.We booked the standard room for my parents and we had to take the pirate room. My kids believe it or not were scared of the pictures of the room(skull etc) and didn't want to stay there, so we booked to get in the resort and were told to keep trying back for a standard room. So I have been checking all week with no luck, till today!!!!! I called and they changed us to a standard room, so we will be with my parents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am really excited now as we got everything that we were hoping for and wanting! YAY!
Here are a few questions for you all, does the CBR food court have a slushie machine like the POP or is the POP the only one with that?

We requested a main floor room(parents have bad knees and we will have our stroller too), connecting or ajoining rooms and two areas jamaica or aruba. DO they prioritize requests and give one over the other? What are our chances of getting all 3 requests?

How far is the walk over the bridge to the main pool/OPR?

No CBR doesn't have a slushie machine. I would call and have the requests put in your reservation. I would prioritize your requests. You should also have them do a "travel with" on both reservations so your reservations are linked in their system. That would help with the room location. I would make those two your 2 highest priorities.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes I put all the requests on my reservation and she asked me to verify that I am travelling with (she read it on my reservation, I didn't tell her) I was hoping for a slushie machine, but we can't have it all can we now;)

So we are 23 days from our trip and I am getting worried that CBR is going to be booked solid. :scared: Good for Disney if it is, but I was really hoping for a less crowded week. Guess we'll see.

Is there anything I need to know? Pack? Expect?
I am traveling with a 14yo and a almost 2 year old.

Thanks everyone!

I am not sure about your first wo questions, but the walk is not bad. We got back Sunday from 4 nights in Jamaica building 46. I loved the walk over the bridge, it was very peaceful. None of the Jamaica buildings looked that far away to me. The walk to OPR did not seem any further than the walk to the bus stop.

We were initially given a room further away in Aruba but I politely asked to be closer and got the Jamaica 46 building but had to move to 2nd floor. The scecond floor was not a probel for us. We faced the parking lot and could see the higher fireworks and hear the music from Wishes. We could also see the higher Illuminations fireworks.

I was not disturbed by the buses, as we were set a ways away from the street the buses circle around on. I did leave the ceiling fan on to create a white noise though.

I liked the resort alot. The size of the room surprised me, but we did have a corner room and that seems to open it up a bit since there is more light.
