Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

This is the main reason why I love CBR sooooo much! The resort could be totally filled, but you would never know it. The way the resort is laid out you will only come across a few people as you're walking around. The only places that will be "busy" will be the food court during normal breakfast hours and the main pool during the day. If you eat breakfast at an odd hour or swim early or late than you'll see much less crowds.

Be sure to pack swim diapers and waterwings for the 2 year old. Have a wonderful, magical vacation!

me again

I am on page 60 of this long thread and can't seem to find something that I had breifly seen a few days ago.

I am sure there was a post about where one could see fireworks from the pool/pool area(main pool). I believe there was a drawing as well. Anyone have this information for me?

I know this has been asked before but does anyone have a pict they could post of a pack n play set up in the room? And were they super clean? My mom lives close so we could pick up hers but it is just one more thing to lug over.

You can see the Illuminations fireworks well from anywhere in the Old Port Royale area, from the pool to the Martinique beach. You can also get a great view from the Aruba parking lot.

The map you are thinking of was where you can watch the Wishes Fireworks from a public area (the walkway in front of the Shutters restaurant). You can only see the higher fireworks, but they will appear directly above Spaceship Earth. Just position yourself on the walkway in a place where you can see the dome peeking above the trees:

I have a question about the pool. Are water wings allowed for my 4 year old, or does she have to wear a life jacket? At our local pools they won't allow water wings, could be a liability issue I'm guessing.

Everyone has been so helpful, thanks for all your answers!

We are thinking about requesting Jamacia. But, we want to be close to the bridge. I'm not sure how to word it to get what we want. Should I request a certain building in Jamacia (like #45) or should we just say as closest to the bridge to get to OPR?

The UOG recommends that you try not to be extremely specific about your requests b/c if they can't honor it, then you could stuck without getting anything close. So I'd just say "closest to the bridge" as opposed to an exact building.

Speaking of requests, how do I handle crib requests? Should I call the reservation # directly and request it? We'd also like to have rooms as close as possible to EACH OTHER (two rooms total) so do I also make that known? Truthfully we'd like adjoining but I doubt we're going to get that. And as someone else said, I'd love to see a pic of a pack & play too. :)

I would have your requests put in your reservation. When you think you are calling the resort you are actually calling a call center. Mention again at check in you will need a crib because they aren't put in the room until you are there.

Do you mention connecting rooms? If you want the door between the two rooms then be sure to ask for connecting. If you just want 2 rooms next to each other that would be adjoining.

Are there disposable coffee cups with covers in the rooms at CBR? I'm making my shopping list and was wondering if I should pick some up or not.
Thanks! We leave in 6 days!:)

We just got our reservation information in the mail and I do not see a request for a crib on there. Would it show?

Yes, I guess I meant connecting. That's our preferred but we'd be happy with adjoining, or even across the hall from one another although I don't know that CBR is set up that way.

Yes, your 4 year old will be able to use water wings instead of a life jacket. :)

Are flotation devices required for the kids in the pools? My son really doesn't need a life jacket in a pool. He's an excellent swimmer.

Made a ressie today! :cheer2: Dh says he wants to go for Spring Break. We've had so much snow and ice the kids will be going to school well into June. Get this though...We have to plan this trip in 47 DAYS!!! :scared1: I hope we can pull it off!

Last year we were booked 10 months in advance for October. Then one day in February my husband comes home from work and tells me his work will be slow for a month and could we go to Disney the following week instead of waiting until October. :scared: I had less than two weeks to make arrangements. We did it and had a great time. Only downfall was not being able to get all of the ADR's we wanted, but otherwise it was fine. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

We are going at the end of our Spring Break trip for 2 nights.
Not sure how much we can pack it but its better than nothing!!!
Made a reservation yesterday!!

We got back Thursday from the coldest Orlando weather we've ever experienced! I knew what was coming and we packed accordingly, but we really weren't prepared for the below 20 degree WIND CHILL...BRRRRRRRR:eek:

CBR was great! We stayed in a refurbished room in Building 43 of Jamaica, and the brilliant sunshine made for good picture-taking. As I upload them I'll post them over the next few days. Here's the first batch:
