Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

Sorry! I really can't say. My kids are really into swimming and the parks. They loved the main pool complex, doing the parks, lounging on hammocks and shopping. Hair braiding is available, but DD isn't into that.

I have several questions for all the CBR fans. I understand that some of the rooms are being updated. Will they all be done by August? Does the upgrade include new beds? Any other changes? If anyone has slept in the new beds, are they nice pillowtops?

It appears as if the resort is pretty large. How close are the preferred rooms?

Also, how is the transportation? What is the 1st bus stop to be picked up? Do you share with any other resort?

Lastly, how is the food court and he TS restaurant?

Some of this may be in the thread, but I couldn't read all the pages...

Has anyone used this service at the CBR?? I'm wondering if they only do in-room babysitting or is there a central location where there are several children being watched at the same time? Any info would be great! Thanks!

I have a trip booked in March, and I would like to request a refurbished room. I'm confused as to which buildings are done or will likely be finished by March. I know they are going counterclockwise, just not sure where they left off. Thanks!

There is no central location for babysitting at CBR. It would be in room babysitting.

When I booked my trip for April, I was asked about needing babysitting for DS since it is our 15th Anniversary, and was told it was in-room. Depending upon the age of the child(ren), appropriate activities would be brought along.
Hope you have a great time!:thumbsup2

I used Fairy Godmothers babysitting when hubby and I needed a night out two years ago. The woman who came was great! We ordered pizza for the kids so she ate with them, played for a while, read them a story and tucked them in. I think Disney recommends them so I would definitely use them again. If you want a central location, just use the kid centers at one of the bigger resorts.

I checked last year's Easter activities at the various resorts and CBR wasn't listed and it was about the only resort not listed. I'm hoping it's just a mistake. Does CBR normally do egg coloring, candy hunt, etc.? Anything?

They are in Jamaica now. Trinidad North would be last. The rest have been refurbished.

So do I have it right now?:

Martinique, Barbados, and Aruba- all Nemo rooms now
Jamaica- switchover to Nemo in progress
Trinidad South- (all?) pirate rooms (at extra cost)
Trinidad North- still the older rooms

I jus saw a post about the CSR marina being closed during our dates late this month. This means no bike rentals, etc.

What about at CBR, does anyone know whether we will still be able to rent bikes or boats the last week in January staying at CBR?

Also, has anyone tried Shutters? The CM that booked our stay recommended it. She said many CM's eat there and her own family likes to have family celebration meals there.

I am trying to find something my 78 yo mom will like. She is on the fence about going. She liked Cali Grill, and Brown Derby.

She is a light eater, so portions are of no consequence, it is quality that counts.

What about the counter service at CB? What is good?

Thanks.

Thanks. This is a great thread. One of the best on the Resort board, IMHO. The info available is astounding.

I can now relax with my CB choice, as DD13 really wants to enjoy the resort this time.

Now I have fingers crossed for mild enough weather for water stuff.

Safetymom thanks so much for all your information! Last time I stayed at CBR was in December of 2000 so I am anxious for a return trip next month. Do you know if Jamaica building 45 has been refurbished yet? I requested it for our trip since that is where we stayed in 2000 and loved the location.
Thanks again!

these 3 buildings are ALL Nemo rooms?:confused3

All of the bldgs are or will be Nemo rooms once rehab complete; with the exception of TS which will be Pirate theme

No wonder my room wasn't renovated! We were in TS! I do happen to think it's a little money grubbing of Disney to charge extra for the Pirate rooms in TS when they're so far from OPR.
