Caribbean Beach or Port Orleans Riverside?

I called to book Dream Maker Can. at Par at Pop Century, but it's sold out, so we booked Caribbean Beach. We also had the chance to book Port Orleans Riverside - which resort would be better for an 11 month old? It's our daughter's very first trip (and it's her 1st birthday at the end of the month!) so we want the best child friendly resort.

Any opinions as to each of these resorts (French Quarter is still under refurbishment) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tiger

You can't go wrong with either resort, they are both very nice. The CB has just be refurbushed and will have a newer feel to it. The Pool at the CB is more geared towards the kids and the food court seems to have a larger selection.:sunny:

It all comes down to the theming of the resorts. At that age I don't think your child will notice much of a difference.

I asked this same question 2 weeks ago and the overwhelming response was POR, so that's where I made reservations. I can't give an opinion until after our april visit, however those that had stayed both places recommended POR overall. I asked this questions a few times and different readers kept giving that response, so wanted to pass it on. However, all said "you can't go wrong at a disney property".

Choose the theme that best appeals to you. All Disney resorts are child friendly. At one year of age I really don't think it makes any difference.

Having stayed at both resorts our family prefers POR. We just preferred the laid back feeling of PO. We enjoyed the food court much more there also. POR offers the convenience of boating to DTD, a fishing hole and a carriage ride.

That being said - go with the theming that appeals to you.

Have fun planning!

We love both resorts but POR is our favorite. We have a ten year old and a 16 month old son. The 16 month old LOVED the playground at POR!! The 10 year old swears by the pool and the great arcade. Hope this helps!!:bounce:

I would choose CBR. If the main pool gets too busy you can take her to your island's pool which will be less crowded (each island has their own pool). The landscaping is very pretty at the CBR so it would be nice to take your daughter for walks along the walkways to relax and the resort is very bright and cheery. I believe they also have a playground. Have a great vacation and happy birthday to your daughter!
