HI there

Planning an august trip, caribbean beach or cornado springs? 15 and 13 yo with us. Both resorts look lovely. any strong feelings for one or the other? TIA! :flower:

Personally, I vote for CBR. I have stayed there two times (in fact it is the only Disney resort I have stayed at) and had great experiences both times. CSR looks like a great resort as well, but the tropical theming of CBR is what sold me. Any of the Disney resorts are great, it just depends on what theming you prefer. Do you prefer the southwest feel (CSR) or the tropical feel (CBR)? Kids would enjoy both. Good luck!

We have stayed in all 3 mods and love, love, love CSR!! I think in August, your kids will be spending alot of time at pool, and in my opinion, CSR has 2nd best pool on property (YC/BC is the best). We like Cabanas 8a, or 8b... close to pool and bus stop #4. :cheer2:

We've stayed at both but CSR appeals a little more to us....maybe cuz we already live at the beach and it is a little something different for us.

You can't go wrong with either....!!

I have stayed at both.

I would go back to CSR before CBR; great pool, newer resort. But you might like the food court better at CBR. It seems somehow easier and there were a lot more outside tables at CBR, which was great for a quick morning bite before going on our way. Whichever you pick, you and your kids will enjoy. :earboy2:

CSR!! Check out my website below for reason why!!

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

Both resorts are nice, its really just a matter of personal preference. I think all moderates are pretty much the same, it just comes down to which themeing appeals to you more. Personally, I prefer the CBR, we stay there all the time and love it.

but we prefer CSR. It's newer, I like the pool better, and it has a bit more of a deluxe feel than CBR. However, I like CBR as well. I think perhaps the best way to choose is to decide which theme appeals to you most. They are both wonderful resorts.

I would say in addition to theming, it's also a matter of amenities.
Part of the reason we're staying at CBR is for the high speed internet (DH and BIL's work), and fitness club (BIL is an athlete/trainer/coach). We also like the concept of the Pepper Mill, and have been impressed by the description of the pool area. We also don't mind the potential of a 'business atmosphere', particularly in exchange for these perks.
It will be interesting to see if the reports of faster, less-crowded buses holds true for us in early October :-)

I really perfer CBR.... It's hot enough in Florida, I don't need to stay in a desert themed resort. Plus since CBR is older the rooms are a little bigger and the "standard view" is not really a parking lot. (Disney got cheaper after this one and the standard view may very well be a parking lot!)

Plus I am lost all the time at CSR. IT is just too confusing for me.

I can't speak for CSR having never stayed there but, I can speak for CBR. We love it, have stayed there a few times and would love to stay there again. I love all of the tropical surroundings, the music, the bright colors and the overall feel of the place. Wonderful resort. :wave2:

Add me to the list of people who have only stayed at one. We've been to CBR, and had been to only Deluxes before that, so we wondered how big a difference there would be. We loved CBR, felt like we had a vacation within our vacation, with a Caribbean beach feel all around us. The main pool isn't enormous, but it was fine, and the quiet pools at each village are great. The food court was really good, with something for everyone, and my 11 and 14-year-old sons loved it all, especially renting the Sea Raycer boats, which both of your kids are old enough to drive (I think the min age is 12). We will be back at CBR just as soon as we can figure out a way to get back to WDW!

Strong support for CSR from us. Everything Buzz2001 said applies to us. The Pepper Market by our standards is great. There is sometihing there for everyone unlike some of the other food courts. And it isn't all desert themed. That's only one section. The others are beach themed and urban themed. It truly is a beautiful resort and can be romantic if you want it to be or family oriented if that's what you want. Everytime I've stayed there I've felt like I was in a delux resort that just got spread out instead of up.

We have stayed at both and love both-so either way you will be happy.
Our favorite though is Coronado Springs-best pool, best bus system, best food court, beautiful grounds, I could go on. We prefer CSR but you will be happy at either one!! Enjoy!

I have stayed at all four of the moderate resorts...I would have to say that CSR is the best of your two choices. It isn't as large and is beautiful....it felt more like a deluxe to me. It also has the best pool around!

How is the bus service at CSR different than CBR?

I have found the buses to be more efficient and less crowded at CSR. We never waited more than 5 minutes for any of the buses and maybe because of the convention crowd, the buses were always empty. The buses at CBR were extremely crowded with long waits. Just my experience. :teeth:

The buses from CSR only service CSR unlike some of the others that make multiple stops when returning from the parks. Also, the buses seem to be less crowded -- I guess as mentioned that this is a convention facility and alot of the people are there for conventions. I did notice that on the week-ends the crowds pick-up some.

Haven't stayed at CBR but have stayed 3 times at CSR and every time it gets better and better. Especially the bus service! The Pepper Market is also one of my favorites as well. The selection is the best part. Keep in mind when Dis'ers say this is a new resort, it is one of the newest but it opened back in 2000? If I am not mistaken and I feel it gets better with age. Love that Jacuzzi!!!
