caribbean beach or coronado springs

Also, the bus loading areas in the parks are all close to the fron with CSR, as that deluxe resorts are! I think it is a deluxe in mod clothing... we would be staying there next week if we could as we LOVE the pool , but as there are no codes and we are doing dining package, would have cost $420 more for 1 week!! miss those codes!!!!!!!!!!!!! love CSR!

CSR is our favorite moderate. We stayed ar CBR a few years back and it just didn't do it for us. At CSR the pool, slide, Pepper Market and beautiful landscaping all add up to make this resort the perfect match for us. We've stayed in the cabanas and ranchos and loved them both. Take the time to rent a surrey and ride around the lake to see all 3 of the different areas. We stayed at POR a few weeks ago and while it was a nice resort, I just kept wishing that we were at CSR!!! Wish I was there right now... :rolleyes1

Thank you to the OP for this thread. I was reading another thread that was on the negative side and was feeling a little uneasy about the choice that I had made in booking CSR yesterday. I feel much better now. Thanks everyone! Maggie

We've stayed at both but CSR appeals a little more to us....maybe cuz we already live at the beach and it is a little something different for us.

You can't go wrong with either....!!
I live at the beach, too, and I love CBR. I've stayed there twice, 15 years apart, and it's the only WDW resort I've stayed at (Wyndham Palace doesn't count).

So I can't tell you I prefer it over CSR, but I just can't get enough beach (and I just got off the beach about 2 hours ago!).

CSR!!
THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink
If you're comparing CSR to CBR, there are several things in your "pros" list that shouldn't be there because CBR meets or exceeds them. For example:

"no sharing bus with other resorts." We'll neither does CBR!

"3 quiet pools": CBR has 6 (one for each village).

"new shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages": CBR has had this since at least 1990, the first time I was there.

"fridge in the room": same

"coffeemaker in the room": same

"iron and ironing board": same

I'm not saying CBR is better; I can't, because I've never been to CSR. But at least you should have your facts straight before listing specific reasons why one is better than the other.

I don't think Buzz stated he was comparing, he listed the Pros he felt CSR offered, no where did he mention CBR.

I have tried to book CSR for the last week of August twice. The first was 2 years ago with the 4 for 7 deal. This year I tried to get the AAA discount and it was unavailable. Then when I switched to the free dining, all that was available was waterview. I have a problem paying more $ for a "view" when I will see the whole property anyway, since I run every morning. So CSR eludes me! So I say go for it (CSR). It seems to consistently get better reviews than CBR (which is where I am staying).

Part of the reason we're staying at CBR is for the high speed internet (DH and BIL's work), and fitness club (BIL is an athlete/trainer/coach). We also like the concept of the Pepper Mill, and have been impressed by the description of the pool area. We also don't mind the potential of a 'business atmosphere', particularly in exchange for these perks.

I think this poster meant CSR...
CBR does not have high speed internet or a fitness club and CSR does. The high speed internet sold us on going with CSR as dh owns his own company and would never have been able to take a 10 day vacation with dd and I if he didn't have access to his emails. He checks them while dd takes her afternoon nap. Even Poly didn't have high speed, only dial up and it was HORRIBLE!
