Caribbean Beach FAQ part VI

We're looking at switching our May reservation from All Star Music to the Caribbean Beach resort as I'd like to try a new resort.

We're thinking about getting the refillable mugs while we're there. Does anyone know if the food court offers Cherry Coke as a standard option (I love Cherry Coke, but we can't get it here in Canada anymore  )

In 2011, no Cherry Coke. Not sure if that has changed.

Hi from Caribbean Beach resort! We arrived earlier and I like it so far. Room is clean and very spacious, but a tiny bit musty smelling. Fridge in room, cabinet not quite closing but nothing a CM couldn't fix. Oh, and we have both a aircon unit and a thermostat. It's freezing in here!

I had the salmon meal in the food court for dinner which was nice and had a massive amount of food. I got the monkey cupcake for dessert and couldn't eat it because I was full. :( Oh well, breakfast tomorrow!

Thanks for checking in! I hope you have a magical stay at the lovely CBR. It would be nice living vicariously through you if you don't mind popping in with updates. :thumbsup2

Thank you. We'll see if I have time.

We got placed in Martinique 25 so we're super close to the food court, pool and a bus stop, which is great.

Can I assume that the switch to queen beds will be in the pirate rooms, too? I really really want to stay in one but there's no way DH and I can share a double bed, and I'd prefer not to have to split up for the whole trip. :crowded:

Several of us wondered as well. I think that it would be difficult for them to change the mattresses over to queen given how the bed itself is built. But, as we all said, anything is possible with Disney.

Yay for arriving and liking the room. I'd mention the musty smell if it gets too bad. Those mousekeepers sure do like turning the air to freezing cold don't they. They did that at French Quarter too.

Oh gosh, I'd love to have one of the monkey cupcakes right now! I'm jealous that you're eating it for breakfast when all I had was a bowl of cheerios. :p

Have a great time!

Thanks for the update. I was wondering if the rooms have fridges. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

As of the end of January 2014, no cherry coke in food court.

Has anyone stayed in the Jamaica building?? I have a feeling we will end up on that side of the lake for some reason as its a busy weekend and were using a discount vs paying rack rate. Is it a far walk across to the food court area???

Jamaica is our favorite village and Jamaica 45 is our favorite building in all of CBR. Our 2 requests every stay are Jamaica 45 and 2nd floor. From Jamaica 45 it's about a 5 minute stroll over the bridge. It's a really pretty walk too. Plus our DS will stop off and play at the playground on the Island while I get our breakfasts and grab him on the way back.

Several of our stays were in Jamaica and we liked it. It took us about 5 minute at a leisurely pace to make the walk from Jamaica to Old Port Royale. Not a long walk and it's an easy walk.

Is there any rhyme or reason to how they refurb the buildings? Will they start with preferred rooms or do those last? Or is it all random?

I met the person that took those pictures at CBR when he took them, and saw them on his phone before they were posted. I even know what room........

Us too! Love Jamaica and the walk across the bridge is so pretty and relaxing - not far at all. Arriving for my next stay in just one week and so excited :dance3: :yay: :cool1: :cheer2:
