They were posted on another forum and were reported to have been taken at the CBR.

Thanks. Hard to tell exactly what's going on there, ha! But if they don't order queen frames for the pirate rooms, looks like we'll end up in one of these.

Thank you. Is this confirmed? I ask only because a TA friend of mine claims that on the Disney site, CBR rooms are listed at 300 square feet and are the smallest of the moderate rooms. Not thinking that was accurate.

They are actually the largest of the moderates. CBR's rooms are about the same size as those at the Wilderness Lodge.

They are the largest of the moderates. For some reason, even some guidebooks list the room size as the same as the other moderates. It is confirmed as 340 on allearsnet as well.

Longtime lurker here just jumping in the conversation.....

Over on another website, there was a post that linked to the permits filed for the CBR refurb this past week. They did not include the pirate rooms in the permits so it does raise doubt as to the pirate rooms getting queen beds.

Interesting!
Although if all they were going to do in the pirate rooms was change the bed size (versus a complete refurb) would that require a permit? I realize the frame would require a bit of work, and I don't understand what all requires a permit and what doesn't.

I'm impressed by how spacious our room is, apart from the bath/toilet room. Not enough places to sit though.

Just received an email from Disney saying 10 days until our trip!! Its been several years since I've been to CBR.:cool1:

Today I'm packing what I can ahead and making my lists for last minute stuff!!

You can also order this at any bar by asking for a Roy Rogers.

Thanks for the tip!

Even with the lack of Cherry Coke, we still decided to switch our May ressie to the Caribbean Beach. It's a new resort for us, and we're excited to stay there.

Getting a refurbished room would be a nice bonus! :) If they look anything like the pictures, they'll be super nice!

Has anyone stayed in the Jamaica building?? I have a feeling we will end up on that side of the lake for some reason as its a busy weekend and were using a discount vs paying rack rate. Is it a far walk across to the food court area???

Ohh we were in Jamaica last year 2nd week of May and it was beautiful! just a short 5 min stroll across the bridge to the food court..we loved it!! the grounds are sooo pretty and its so quiet. Ducks turtles you name it..this was a first for us over the other side of the water but we loved it so much so we may request if if we go back again :)

well I just sat for 2 solid days showing the kids other hotels..other options...big beautiful spacious villas with amazing water parks...condos..bonnet creek etc..sheraton..Hilton..you name it..they loved them all...we narrowed it down to three we liked. We get up this morning they say to me.."Mom cant we just go back to CBR?...I was like sure..lol" LOL I dont know why I bother!!!! We really only plan to do one Disney day this year too...possibly two days at the most as the kids are Lego nuts and are desperate to see Legoland and they have never been to Universal...oh well..looks like we will be back at CBR... Moms not compaining..I love it too!! ;)

Your family sounds just like us. Before each trip we research other resorts but when it comes time to decide it's CBR unanimously.

Anybody know when the refurb is supposed to start? Or the timeframe for it? Or pics of test rooms? :-)

Scheduled to start in April. When POR did their room refurb it took a full year to complete.

This is our first time to stay at CBR & we are vry excited! We have booked a King room for out 10th Anniversary trip in June & I have some questions. Are these rooms spread all overtone resort or clustered in one certain location? Can I call and request a specific area?

Thank you in advance!

They are spread out all over. Yes, you can call the main reservation line and request a location.
