I just recently booked our stay at the CBR and we're very excited!
I do have a question--
Do you have to book the kids' pirate cruise in advance or can I do it when we get there?

Congrats, CBR is a great resort! :goodvibes

You can book it as much as 6 months in advance. I booked it when I made my ADR's the last time we stayed at CBR.
My kids loved it! pirate:

I was just looking at the pictures, that were posted above, of the items offered in the store. Does anyone know if you can buy bigger cartons of milk (like 1/2 gallon size)? It looks like those are maybe individual serving size cartons. Thanks! Just trying to plan ahead.

So I booked CBR through the disney website and it wont let me go back in and make requests...do you think my best bet is to call them?

No, they only had the individual sizes in the Grab N Go section. If you aren't going to have a car, I would suggest GardenGrocer.com . We ordered water, snacks, fruit, milk, juice, and breakfast foods from them and were very happy with the service. They bring the groceries to the Customs House, and Bell Services brought them to our room. :goodvibes

Hello again. This is more of a general check in question than Caribbean Beach question but everyone is so helpful I will ask anyway.

We are thinking of dropping our park hopper option. What is the latest we can do this? Can we do it when we check in and just have the amount credited to our room bill? Or do I need to decide sooner?

Thanks again.

I am assuming you have a package. . .

I'm not exactly sure, but I am thinking that any changes to a package need to be made before the 45 day mark in order to not incur a charge. . .

I just asked a similar question the other day. The CM was really pissy with me and said I needed to do that ASAP - but once I prodded her a bit more she said I had until 45 days prior but I still should do it now if I'm thinking about it. Testy-testy.... Not sure if she was just pissed or if this was correct...because I could have sworn I heard that I had until a few days prior to arrival to make any changes, but it is the answer I got this time. :rotfl:

All all preferred rooms close to the food court? I have requested Jamaica or Aruba which I hear are the closest non-preferred. Just wondering how much closer the preferred rooms are than those 2 bldgs? Thanks, leaving in 1 week and getting very excited. Hoping the weather will cooperate.

It also costs more than standard rooms

We are DVC members bit I have to say I may like CBR better than some of the DVC resorts. The CM's were great, the room was great, the beach was great, the main & quiet pools were great, and you could come back before the parks closed to watch the Epcot higher up fireworks. FABULOUS! :thumbsup2

Oh I can't wait to go on our next visit to CBR, I can book ADRs on Sunday, and it can't get here quick enough!!!

Wow!! That is quite a lot of praise! :worship:That makes me feel great. We are Poly fans, but a short planned trip with my children calls for mod pricing. I picked CBR because of the theming and pool. Your review really makes me sure we will love it!:cloud9:

You can make changes however you will likely have to pay a penalty for the change.

You can always just remove it now to ensure you do not have to pay a penalty and if you decide when you get there you would like the park hopper bring your card to guest services and pay for the upgrade.

We are only going to be there 3 nights and it's just 2 of us this time, so I don't think the garden grocer would be a good option for us. When we stayed at CSR last November, they had a grocery section in the gift shop where we could get 1/2 gallons of milk. I was hoping CBR would have something similar. Do they sell any grocery items in their gift shop or is that where the Grab N Go section is located?

Hi Everyone, I have to say I'm amazed at all the info on the last 176 pages and thanks to everyone that has provided the info.

We ended up booking our trip to CBR before finding this forum but based on discussions with the CM and friends referrals I think we did pretty good. Trying to get Jamiaca or Aruba for March 5th.

I do have a couple of questions though that maybe someone can help with:

Someone suggested taking coat hangers as there is not enough-beacuase we have two rooms I would assume we will be ok ?

We see that Green Grocer or Garden Grocer is the way to go-can you get beer delivered from them or do I have to head into town ?

Internet Access- is it $9.95 per 24 hours (by the clock) or a total of 24 hours total ususage as I only need to check emails for about 10 min per day over the 10 day period ?

Is the internet cable just sitting on the table and looks short-am I better off bringing a longer cable to connect to it so I can have the laptop on the bed ?

I saw mention of the HESS gas station/store at the front of the property-can I get beer from there to keep in the fridge ?

We have friends in south Florida-are they allowed to visit us at CBR ?

Can you rent an ECV at CBR ?

Am i better off using online check in before we fly down to CBR ?
Any thoughts ?

I see tips mentioned at roughly %6.5 ?

We were last at WDW in 2003 just as the Iraq war started and they were stopping people from taking bottled water into the park and confiscated it at the entrance-is this still the case ?

Funny story here too-when we arrived at WDW and because of the war, a paid charter from Asia had cancelled and the tour lady was going thru the ticket lines handing out 3 day park hopper passes to families with kids for free-that worked out well !

Once again thanks to everyone that posted over the last 176 pages as it helped quite a bit.

I can only answer a couple of your questions. I will answer them in blue below.

Someone suggested taking coat hangers as there is not enough-beacuase we have two rooms I would assume we will be ok ? Depends how much stuff you want to hang up. Sometimes its easier when packing especially for kids to put each outfit complete w/ socks, hair ties, etc in a zip lock bag for each day..makes unpacking easy (just put the entire bag in the drawer and the kids can get ready themselves..quicker to)
We see that Green Grocer or Garden Grocer is the way to go-can you get beer delivered from them or do I have to head into town ?

Internet Access- is it $9.95 per 24 hours (by the clock) or a total of 24 hours total ususage as I only need to check emails for about 10 min per day over the 10 day period ? I believe it is for straight 24hours. Not that you get 24hours worth of internet.

Is the internet cable just sitting on the table and looks short-am I better off bringing a longer cable to connect to it so I can have the laptop on the bed ? I think the internet cable is on the nightstand between the beds..can anyone confirm this?

I saw mention of the HESS gas station/store at the front of the property-can I get beer from there to keep in the fridge ?

We have friends in south Florida-are they allowed to visit us at CBR ? Yes, they can. They will have to give your name at the resort gate and the attendant will verify you are staying there & allow them in.
Can you rent an ECV at CBR ? No, at theme parks only and they are 1st come, 1st serve. There are outside companies that rent ECV's and will deliver it to your resort. Alot cheaper than renting them at theme parks.
Am i better off using online check in before we fly down to CBR ?
Any thoughts ? online check in is great. You can register your information including credit card info so when you arrive they will have your packet all pu together..saves time for you and those behind you:)

Our trip was booked thru disney on their %40 off deal and the code was NQL-any idea what that code is ? must just be the promotional code. Each promotion has a different code

I see tips mentioned at roughly %6.5 ? Are you talking about tips as in gratuity or tax? I think tax is roughly 6.5%, tipping (gratuity we do 15-20% based on service)
We were last at WDW in 2003 just as the Iraq war started and they were stopping people from taking bottled water into the park and confiscated it at the entrance-is this still the case ? You can bring your own bottled water into the parks. You can also get free ice water at any counter service restaurant. I bring a couple of those individual crystal light powder mixes to add to it
