Can you use the Disney Visa and get the 10% off at the resort gift shop(s)? I know you can in several of the storses in DTD...but I was not sure about at the resorts or in the MK, E, DHS, or even AK??!! Does anyone know?

Maybe someone will know for sure...but I don't think you get the discount at resort gift shops. This is from the Disney Rewards Visa site...still not very specific.
Perk: Receive 10% off merchandise purchases of $50 or more

When: Anytime during normal Theme Park hours

Where to go: Your discount is available at select Walt Disney World® owned and operated locations throughout the resort

What to do: Use your valid Disney Rewards Visa Card and mention this offer

Why: Give your family extra treats on vacation while enjoying great savings

I really like the shampoo/conditioner combo as just a shampoo.

Specific to CBR, I have a question about the hotels that have been built in the background (the one seen a few posts up). When on the grounds of CBR, does this hotel take away from the ambiance? How much so?
I like it too, on vacation. Not sure I'd use it everyday tho. ;) As for the pics in the background, I only saw construction of the first 3 summers ago, and then I saw the new construction in October, both views were from the BACK side of TN, 1st & 2nd floors. It's not that visible at all.

..I don't usually like shampoo/conditioner in one.
Me either, but this isn't bad. ;)

I agree, while not specific in this copy/paste, I think it does state somewhere that it's certain Disney Stores, aka Downtown Disney, and I know it's $50 plus. LOVED using this discount too! :thumbsup2

I'm confused because the CBR doesn't have Elevators! That's ok with me I will requested a lower room in Barbados. Oh! One more thing Barbados is closer to the lobby:confused:

CBR was the first moderate built. There are only two floors, they learned for the rest of the mods.

Check in is at the Customs House. Barbados would be the closest village to the Customs House but once you visit it to check in you really can do everything at the food court at Old Port Royale. You would only need to visit the Customs House when you leave.

How is the CS food here? The food looks really good at the Poly and I have not read good things about CBR but wanted to ask the veterans that love it.

I did not see this in the thread, so I apologize if it has been asked.

I was in-town last week for a convention, so I drove over to the resort in my car to check it out, know I would be checking in tomorrow.

After getting really excited about the upcoming vacation, I started to try to figure out how I would get my bags from the check-in area to my room and back again at the end of the trip.

I am flying in around midnight tomorrow, so I would not get to the resort til 1am or so. Will I have to trek to my room in the dark with all of my bags?

At the end of the trip, when I am worn out from my adventures. Will I have to trek back to the check-in office to catch the DME with all my bags?

One thing I have learned from traveling is that any bag gets heavy after a while!

Yeah, I printed the info from the Disney Rewards Website, and I am bringingit with me! I was just hoping for maybe a list of approved places...I have heard everything from Only DTD stores to All stores that are owned by Disney! I have no idea! I will just have to wing it! Thanks everyone!!:wizard:

They have luggage services, which is Quite Excellent! Even at non-hours, so to speak! ;) Been there, done that! They were superb! :thumbsup2 Trust them, they really DO handle everything! :goodvibes

One of the many things we love about CBR is the food court -- there are a wide range of choices, and we've always been able to find plenty of room to sit down -- even during our Spring Break trips! It is a food court, but they try to include some great choices -- and everyone in our group of 10 (ranging in age from 7 to 50) this past summer loved it!

We love CBR it's my all time favorite resorts! We Can't wait to stay in CBR for my birthday on January 14, 2010!

Great! Thanks so much!

you're welcome! Oh! safetymom! I have a question Why does the CBR have any elevators? please safetymom tell me because i'm confused! Can you explained why CBR has no elevators! Thank you!

From what I can gather it was the first moderate they built and I guess they didn't think they needed them? The rest have them....I think that is the jist of it.....HTH

I can't wait to get there. We will be checking in in 28 1/2 days. I am so excited and then can really join in on the conversations. I love POFQ but our kids out voted me this time.

As others have mentioned CBR was the first moderate. I am sure they felt with two floors they didn't need elevators.

thanks safetymom for the info! CBR is a good choice for my birthday on January 14, 2010!
