Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

We will be checking in next week to a water view pirate room. What would be a good room to request?

Is there a laundry line in the shower to hang wet swim suits?

How much does it cost to do laundry?

Can you see any fireworks from the beach area?

Do upstairs rooms have balconies?

Thanks in Advance!

Have all the rooms here been remodeled lately? Which rooms have finding Nemo?? Are all 'locations' disney themed? Like Nemo, Pirates?

TIA

Building 35 has water view rooms that are closer to the rest of the resort than the other water view rooms. In addition, the water view rooms in Building 35 are lake view ... when you book water view, you ave no way to guarantee whether the water you'll view is the lake or the village quiet pool.

I don't recall that rooms in CBR have a laundry line ... I recall drying bathing suits by draping them over the shower rod.

There are no balconies at any of the 4 Moderate resorts. Your room door and your window open onto an exterior corridor, like a motel.

EVERY room in CBR was recently refurbished.

CBR is comprised of 6 villages. The Trinidad South village has all of the resort's Pirate themed rooms. These rooms cost extra per night as compared with a standard room due to the heavy theming involved. Everything about the furnishings, the privacy curtain, and even the carpet is in an extreme Pirate theme. A Pirate room is a separate booking category ... if you want a Pirate room you must reserve and pay for a Pirate room.

All of the other rooms in the resort have a slight Finding Nemo motif. They can't be described as Finding Nemo themed rooms. There are a few Nemo characters on the wall border and on the bedspreads ... that's it. If someone was hoping for a Finding Nemo themed room, they'd be very disappointed because it is a very very slight Nemo theming, and can't be looked at as a "Nemo" room. These are the STANDARD CBR rooms. You don't reserve a "Nemo" room, as it is just the standard motif of all standard rooms.

In all 4 of Disney's Moderate resorts, the guest rooms themselves don't have an extreme Disney theme ... maybe the bedspeads might have a hidden Mickey in the design, and that's about it.

I hope this helps.:hippie:

Ok, you answered my questions and now I'm no longer confused! Thanks!
I don't care for the pirate rooms so I'm happy it's a separate booking thingy. Knowing all rooms have a slight "Nemo" theme is perfect!!!!
So I won't have to be concerned with 'asking' for one. I understand it's very light theming- which is perfect!
The more I learn about this resort - the more thrilled I am.

We always stay in a cabin at Ft. Wilderness- long story short, no longer taking the oldest son and his 'whatever' girl- so it's just 4 of us. We can stay at other resorts for the first time in 11 years! It's exciting to shop around and find other resorts at a MUCH cheaper rate than the cabins.

Thanks again!!

Thanks for the info! I talk our mom and said "YES" we will take the CBR for January 14-17 2010! Oh! I will request of a room near the bus stop. And Does CBR has sell CD's and DVD's in those shops? And I Can do the request a building if you do online check in?:confused3

Hey Catbertdave, were you able to make any special requests like: 2nd floor, or corner room - or anything like that? If not, I'm wondering if I should just wait and check in once I get there. I am petrified of snakes and yes I know its Florida and yes I do know that they can get up to the 2nd floor, but I get a nice false sense of security by staying on the 2nd floor, so I'd like to stay on the 2nd floor if I can.

Thanks, Mary

Mary, to be honest I know it gave me the option for a 1st floor room, but I don't remember the other options - I think there were three, but you couldn't type anything -- just pick a box to check. The web site locked up on me and I haven't been able to get it to work since! My BIL called to ask about the web site, and they told him they were having troubles with it to just keep trying. In the end, we're just doing regular check-in.

Hi all. I was wondering if the online check in is a good idea. We will be travelling with my DH's parents. We have requested our buildings and to be close together when we made the reservations online. Do you think we have a better chance of getting what we want with online check in or waiting for arrival?:confused3 TIA

I would like to know this as well. Also, how many days out can you do online check in? Do you miss anything by doing this? I think I want 1st floor, but not sure after the snake comment. :rotfl:

Is there any decent pictures of the new refurbishment pool area with the slides?

Sure, I have plenty. Did you want the main pool or the children's pool, or both?

The new section with the slides please! We stayed here in 2007 before it was refurbished.

I'm thinking of upgrading from value to CBR and skipping paying for a waterpark. The new waterslides at CBF seem like a little miniwaterpark and may satisfy a 3 and 6 year old. Besides we could use it several times rather than just going to a waterpark once and the cost between a value and mod would be similar to paying for a family of 4 to go to a waterpark. Nice way to justify upgrading! :)

This is the new children's pool. It has 3 slides and a tipping bucket. It is a lot of fun!pirate:

Here it is one morning before they turned it on.

Call WDW reservations and have them do a "travel with" on both reservations. This will increase the chances of you both being located near each other. Ask for that exact term.
