We just returned yesterday from 8 fabulous nights at the CBR and we LOVED it. No complaints at all. We were in Jamacia #46 and we were close to Old Port Royale and the bus stops, it was perfect

for those of you just returning from the last week in April, did you have a lot of teenagers/cheerleaders there? I was wondering how many end up at the moderates after spilling over from the values?

Yes the mattresses were changed during the refurb, and they are very comfortable. We've slept on them last Dec. and we will again in Aug.

If you want to be close to a bus stop, food court (Old Port Royale) and the new pool, I recommend that you reserve a Preferred Room. While you will pay more per night for those, but in my book they are so worth it. We have stayed in Preferred Rooms on our last 2 trips there, and they were worth every penny to be as close as we were. The first year we were in North Trinidad and last year we were in Martinique and we loved it. Either section is wonderful.

I hope you have a great trip and love CBR as much as we do!!! Its our family favorite.

Thank you so much! We are very excited, my dh has wanted to stay at CBR for years, I think it may become our new favorite! Thanks for the tip regarding the preferred room!:thumbsup2

Oh yes there were LOTS of them but they all left by the 27th so it wasn't too bad.

I can upgrade to a preferred room for $197. Is it worth it? I'm thinking most likely yes, but before I drive my TA crazy I'd like some opinions on it. Thanks! :goodvibes

We've stayed in non-preferred 2x and preferred 1x. I love the resort and walking so, personally, I would save the extra money. If being close to Old Port Royale is REALLY important to you, I'd upgrade to preferred.

Thanks- duh in the resort photos link huh- there are so many links on here sometimes I just get confused- but thanks for the quick response now I can easily look at all the great pics!

You're welcome!

I know these boards can be kind of confusing sometimes! :rotfl:

But there are some great CBR pictures in that CBR pics thread, as well as some right here on this thread, and in some reviews and trip reports! :goodvibes

Hi,

I am getting excited about my upcoming trip to CBR June 13-20. I just made an order with Garden Grocer. Can you get disposable bowls and spoons from the food court? I wanted to make oatmeal in the room.

Thanks,
Terri

Was this easy to do? How far in advance can you order? Did you order any alcoholic beverages? If so can you tell me how you do it? Sorry I am full of questions. We have never done this before and are planning to do it for our August trip.

It was very easy to do. They have everything broken into categories. I think you wll find it very user friendly.

Hello All,

My DH and I are anxiously awaiting our first Disney trip. We are booked at CBR 5/23 -5/30. We have a confirmed handicap accessable room, and I am a bit confused as to whether or not I should request a certain building when we do the online check-in. I thought I had read somewhere that our room would be pre-assigned due to the special needs, but I couldn't get confirmation of that from the CM DH spoke to when he called to confirm details?:confused3 If anyone knows I would appreciate it as well as any tips you could pass on to a newbie.
We are both mid-40's and travelling without our grown children...
thanks

hi there, I just returned from our trip two days ago at the Poly and I'm already thinking about next year, and thinking about doing CBR. While I'm thinking about it, I was wondering if the bus stops are covered (so you are shielded from the sun), and how often the buses come around? I know there are many stops at the resort and was wondering how often you must wait for the next bus? I am completely spoiled now staying at both the WL and Poly and not using a bus and have no idea what to expect. I'd like to return again to WDW next year and will have to stay at a mod this time. CBR was always in the back of my mind, and my DD really enjoyed the beach at the Poly. Can you build sand castles on the beach at CBR? Are there hammocks to relax in? Can you see fireworks from Epcot anywhere? I'm sure I'll be posting lots of questions, so I look forward to chatting with everyone! TIA for your help :)

Having never stayed deluxe, I can't really tell you what you will miss, but I love CBR, and having visited the Poly for dining and shows, I think you will like CBR too. It's a bit more vibrant colours and theming than the dark wood of the poly tropical theming. Yes, the beaches have hammocks, and you can build sandcastles. You can catch the high fireworks from Epcot, particularly from OPR, towards the Shutters end, outside on the walkway (we could see a little of them from our second floor window in Martinique too). As for the buses, well, I'll admit to being a tad spoiled by the rental car, but they are about the same as every other resort that has multiple stops (CSR for instance). Bus stops are open air but covered with seating.

I just have to celebrate on my favorite thread! Today we are just 38 days from our next stay at CBR!!:cool1: This morning the new AP rates came out, and I tried to add a code to my reservation but there's nothing for my dates. I was a bit disappointed, but it was fun nonetheless talking to Disney today!:thumbsup2

So I got home from work and there in my mailbox are our Magical Express tags and info!! Suddenly, I'm going through all the CBR photos so many of you have posted and can't wait to be back at our favorite resort!!:)

I just have to tell those of you headed to CBR for the first time or considering CBR -- check out this thread -- so many have posted such great info here, and Safetymom does a wonderful job of keeping us all posted!!! You'll LOVE CBR!
