I can't wait to see christmas decorations in CBR! Oh! Nemo theme I forgot where is the location of nemo Theme!

ALL of the rooms have a very slight Nemo theme, except for the Pirate rooms. You have to pay extra to reserve the Pirate rooms, so as long as your Mom doesn't reserve a Pirate room, your room will have a little tiny bit of a Nemo theme.

Disney takes fire codes very serious. If they are caught they must pay HUGE fines. If they catch you, they will throw you out. Not at CBR, but one year at POP our neighbors were caught and were thrown out. I don't know who reported them (housekeeping maybe?). Anyway, as we were walking out one day there was a manager type guy and two security men talking to our neighbors. The dad was screaming something about as much money as he paid for this vacation it was none of Disney's business how many people they had in the room. We overheard the manager saying something about only four people were allowed in the room due to fire codes and policies, and that they had one hour to vacate the premises. I think they had two adults and three kids with them.

I have heard of Pop throwing people out for that too.

27 days till we will be at CBR with my bum in the sand (& hopefully not the other way around.... :lmao:)

Do the mini fridges have those mini-freezers at the top? Just wondering if this would work for freezing our ice packs for the mini-cooler we take to the park. I couldn't really tell from the pictures, assuming they do just wanna make sure... if they don't I just won't pack the extra ice packs.

Wow, my life has come to wondering about the freezing details of a mini-fridge in a hotel at WDW... yup, I think it's safe to say my OCDD* is in FULL swing. :rotfl:

Stop reading them!!!!!!!! The reviews on Allears.net have POFQ as the best moderate that there is and I'm here to tell you, I'd rather stay at CBR any day of the week. The rooms were cleaner, brighter, and cheerier; the grounds much more tropical, the pool has zero entry, the food court has nicer CMs and OMG!!! It is such a wonderful resort. We love it there, so much that we are getting ready to have our 4th visit there in 4 years and we can't wait, we have 136 days left and we are counting down daily!!!

I will, I promise. No more resort reviews for me!

What building, room, etc should I request? Should I pay for a preferred room? My DD loves to swim, so I would like to be somewhere near the pool and not a mile away from the food court. Suggestions anyone?

You know, getting a Preferred Room is really a personal choice. I always book 1 because I allow my DDs to swim at the pool without us being right on top of them, but my girls are 13 & 10, both have been on swim teams and swim very well. So, I book a room close enough that I can get to them quickly by running if I have to, not that I've ever had to, but you never know. And we just like being closer to all the action. But like I said, its a personal choice, there are people on here who would rather be as far from that as possible after being in the parks all day, and then you have those that don't think the cost justifies it. Its all in what you want, the rooms are the same no matter what, unless you book a Pirate theme. Decide for yourself if the cost is an issue, and then go from there. You can't go wrong, the place is wonderful!!!!

DITTO! We are staying at CBR for the 3rd time in July!!:thumbsup2

this is going our second time in CBR! We did stay in CBR before! and Now I will enjoy it!

Question about check in...We are arriving at 9am taking ME so I'm sure that our room will not be ready so we plan on going to the parks. My question is are there lockers or some place to store our carry on luggage at CBR?

Bell Services will store it for you.

We ran into this on our last trip...

Landed around 9a... at the resort bus stop waiting for a bus to the MK by 10:30a :thumbsup2

We checked in, and left our carry-ons with bell sevices. We also mentioned one bag had a lap top in it and they immediately offered to put it in "the cage" for us. They gave us a receipt ticket and we were off! Roughly 5mins total... and it's located directly in front of the customs house.

My one complaint was the wait time to have these bags delivered. Frankly... it wasn't anything the resort did wrong, I simply had zero patience. It was roughly 25mins for our carry ons to be delivered once we were in the room. Thinking back... it truly isn't that bad to wait (considering we were literally on the opposite side of the resort)... but I desperately needed my lap top to upload pics before we could leave (already late)... hence the zero patience.

Just budget enough time for the drop off (or pick them up yourself on your way back to the resort) and you shouldn't be disapointed! :thumbsup2

How often does the internal shuttle come around? Also, what order do the busses stop at each "island"? We have a preferred room booked for the close proximity to the food court, but if we can use the internal shuttle and other busses to get there, we want to just get a standard room.

Thanks

My strong advice is to stay with your initial instinct and keep the preferred location room.

The internal shuttle runs about every 15-20 minutes. That's fine if you're not easily frustrated. I mean, I don't mind that kind of wait for a bus that will take me to a theme park, because I know there's no other way to go. But for an internal shuttle, I'd start getting annoyed that I could've walked quicker or that I could've booked a preferred location room and not needed to wait for the internal shuttle bus.

CBR is huge and spread out. Having stayed in a standard room in the far hinterlands of Aruba (building 56) AND in a preferred location room in Trinidad North, I would choose to pay extra for preferred location every time in the future, if I were to stay at CBR again.

The internal bus comes every 15-20 minutes. Some buses start in Jamaica, with the last stop being in Trinidad South. Some start in Martinique, with the last stop being Barbados.

We have had a standard location both times we have stayed at CBR. Both times it was under a 5 minutes walk to OPR. We wouldn't ever pay for a preferred room. We walked from the farthest out village to OPR just out of curiosity and it only took us 7 minutes, walking at a leisurely pace with 2 kids.

I'M SO CONFUSED!!!! :rotfl: Just teasing!! I appreciate the help!! We are really patient people, so I'm sure if we get a standard location we will be fine. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do just yet.

 I've come to learn that no matter what question you ask on the boards, you will get many different opinions!!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do! :goodvibes

Yes you will, and you'll love CBR, no matter what village you stay at! :thumbsup2

(Ignore my POP siggie - I got a bounce-back and PIN and took 11 nights rather than 6, so I'm staying value for the 1ST time! Stayed at CBR 3 times tho! Love it! :thumbsup2 )

CBR is my favorite! We have stayed at several of the Disney resorts, CBR twice. Last year we did a two week stay divided between POP, BW and POLY. On the last day we stopped at CBR to see the new pool area, we all agreed this is our favorite and this summer we will be spending our two weeks at CBR.
