Wanted to tell you all about the experience my husband and I had while trying to check into the Caribbean Beach Resort on Saturday, October 18th.
We got to the resort about 3:30pm (we rented a car) and we enjoy car shows. We know there is an old car show on Saturdays at Old Town in Kissimmee, that starts at about 5pm.
When we went to check in, Kerrie at the desk told us our room wasn't ready, because they had cleaned the carpets and it wasn't ready. She gave us a phone number to call at 5pm to see which room was ours. So being that it was just the two of us this time, we would just go to the bar, have something fun and fruity and wait for a little while and dump our stuff in our room and then go to the car show. No problem.
At 5 pm I called the number and they told me which room was ours and we went to the room, our room is in Trinidad North. We opened the door to the room and were blown away by the smell of the chemicals they had used to clean the carpets with. My husband has asthma and knew that he wouldn't be able to stay in that room smelling like that. Plus there were no towels, no coffee at the coffee maker...this room was CLEARLY not ready for any guest. So we called the front desk and explained our situation and asked if they had another room. They said they did and to wait right there someone would be by with new keys.
So we waited...we couldn't very well wait inside the room so we waited outside. After 45 minutes I called and asked where the runner was with the keys and the person on the other end of the phone assured us they were on their way. So we waited longer. After another 20 minutes my husband called again and the person on the other end of the phone said that someone went to the room and we weren't there. OK, Now we're getting mad.
So we drive to the front desk ourselves and get new keys. The room was directly above the room they had given us the first time, which is ok, but when I opened the door I noticed that someone's clothes were still in that room!!
So we treck AGAIN back to the front desk and told our story to the front desk and said if we were sure someone's stuff was in that room, because the computer showed that room as clean. We told him to check himself, but he said that was ok and he gave us yet another room. This third person was the FIRST person to apologize for any mix up we were having. This room was satisfactory and we are here now trying to enjoy ourselves. But no one called to see if we were ok. No one else apologized for the state of our room, or the problems we had. My husband ended up missing the car show and consequently missed some friends we had made at that show last year, so we were very disappointed on our first day in Disney World!
Who would you contact to help with this?? Or to even let the resort know their mistake so it won't happen again?
