hello fellow DISers, I am planning my 2019 trip and I am going to break my cardinal rule: don’t visit in the summer. I typically visits in April (with work) and December (with my family DW/DDx2). I typically stay at POR with work and GF with my family. This trip I am traveling with 3 other families and plan to slow down. Hit Disney at rope drop until lunch and then again after dinner. We will spend the afternoons at the pool. My question is this: does anyone have any insight on staying at Caribbean beach vs Bonnet Creek (cheaper and a good neighbor hotel) vs saying a a house in Reunion with our own private pool, game room, etc? I love to hear any opinions.

Thanks

Just an FYI, if you are thinking BC gets the early FP+ and EMH (as put out there by an unnamed website) that is not true. No BC resort/hotels get those perks.

That said ...........

House = we have zero interest in this. We live in a house, I have no interest in taking care of a house full of people at Disney.

Condo (BC) = we love it here and I'd gladly stay every trip. I love the washer/dryer (pack less), I love a kitchen even though we really don't cook much, l love the space without it being too much, love the big balconies, all the beds AND the amenities there are great. In 10 minutes I am parked at any park. And at night in bed before most buses are back to the resort. Truly no negatives for us as it feels like it's on property.

CBR = Disney hotels are GREAT if you have no car. It has all the "perks" if you use them or can't replicate them. It has a food court. And you don't have to drive if you really don't want to.

With multiple families I would stay on site. It is much easier for people to split up, and some kids go this way, some adults go that way, and this group hang out by the pool. Plus you still get a bit of separation if you need a break.

We've never stayed at Bonnet Creek, but have stayed at CBR (loved it) as well as rented a house. My family (12 of us) rented a house twice and we had a blast both times; however, those trips were more FL/Orlando centered than Disney-centered. For a Disney-centered trip, I think staying onsite is best for the reasons HopperFan and maxiesmom posted. Houses are great as there's plenty of room to spread out and you have your own private pool, but for breaks and pool time during the day, you can't beat the convenience of being onsite.

Thank you. The info on BC not being in on the new FP+ rules pushed us over to Beach Club. We are doing 3 days at Sapphire Falls (1 Universal, 1 SeaWorld, 1 open day) before doing 4 at Beach Club. Thanks
