I woke up rather anxious this morning, not knowing whether Sun had picked up my message. I tried to ring them but it kept going to answerphone. Anyway, we drove up to Jambo House still not knowing what was happening. When we got there, I spoke to bell services who said theyd let me know when Sun turned up, and we made our way down to Boma for breakfast.

We enjoyed the jungle juice cocktail they serve: I got a definite hit of peach. I also had a cheese and bacon omelette made to order, which again was really nice. I didnt eat a huge amount; I just wasnt hungry. Anyone else spot the bacon 'man' on my plate? lol

Emma took a huge plate of pastries: she really is a hog! Needless to say, she ate very little of it.

Finally, I got a special plate brought to me for my birthday: she even sang 'happy birthday' to me, but it was a bit wasted as the restaurant was virtually deserted!

During breakfast I made several calls to Sun, all of which went straight to voicemail. While I was waiting for Emma to use the restrooms, I got a snotty email message saying Sun were outside and where the hell was I!! I rushed upstairs only to find that they had already left. While I sat and pondered for a while, making yet another call to Sun demanding to know why they never answered their bloody phone, the guy from bell services came out and told me that theyd actually left the scooter with them. I came back in and retrieved it: its in even worse state than the last one and I swear Im sitting lower down with this one. Really shoddy.
Anyway, I collected Emma from the foyer: shed wanted to explore the resort but I said that if we split up, how would we find each other again?
We put the scooter into the car and then drove to Animal Kingdom, parking right at the front again. Walking towards the entrance Emma noticed that her brand new Animal Kingdom Lodge badge (which had cost $9.99) had disappeared. I hoped it was in the car, but alas it has gone. She must have lost it between AKL and getting the scooter into the car. Were disgusted that it had such a loose clasp on the back Emma also shouldnt have tried to fix it to her bag strap: it is too thick.
We had a great afternoon at the park, even though it was quite chilly. Everything was practically a walk-on. We went and met Doug and Russell, and I did the Doug! Squirrel! thing, where he immediately pointed to a stuffed squirrel in a trolley next to the photo set.

Its tough to be a bug was good, too. We sat right in the very back row, which was the wheelchair row. I transferred to the seat, naturally, so I could get the special effects. I have already forgotten what we did in what order, but we met King Louie and Balloo at one point.

We also went to Yak & Yeti for lunch. Emma had the honeyed chicken and I had the sweet & sour. After pulling out a huge pile of onions and red and green peppers, I was able to tuck in. While Emmas was nice, it was just too honey-sweet and she left most of her rice. Mine was absolutely gorgeous no discernible garlic at all. I had the chocolate mousse which was divine, and Emma had the frozen lemonade which she took away with her and ate it round the park.
On our walk past Everest and seeing the very steep drop and turn at the bottom, we both decided we were NOT going to ride it after all!
We had a quick zip through the nature walk, and I got a great photo of the hippo both above and below the water line.
We went into Dinoland and rode Dinosaur. Emma wasnt keen on it because youre continuously jerked about, but I enjoyed it. Emma was insistent on buying some designer Mickey ears and a Disney slanket (which she had sent back to the resort). (Photo of the ears in tomorrow's report)
Finding Nemo was due to start, so we went in there and watched that. It was really sweet, and we absolutely loved the way they projected the seagulls onto the screen at the end this time they werent saying Mine, they were saying Bye.
We did the safari last. Saw lots of animals some of which were literally on the road we were about to drive! We even got to see 2 lionesses and a lion, as well as a cheetah. Emma was really moaning about her feet by this point. I told her it would help if she wore her shoes properly! Its alright for you youre sitting down! was a retort I heard a lot this holiday!
We returned to the resort to drop off the car and went to the bus stop to take the bus down to DTD for our dinner reservation at Raglan Road. We went from having plenty of time, to being pushed for time. We were getting quite fed up by now, as we had to wait nearly 25 minutes for a bus to DTD, and the traffic when we got near was horrendous. Pleasure Island, where Raglan Road is, was the second stop.
Raglan Road was mental: people were constantly coming up looking for a walk-in and being told it was 90 minutes for a table. We were eventually called in the table was huge and right in the corner with no direct view of the stage at all.

The food came relatively quickly: I had steak with Guinness marmalade and chips (but no accompaniment at all), and Emma had a burger.

I couldnt eat my steak: theyd overcooked it and it was impossible to chew. Due to a misunderstanding, they didnt bring me a replacement (I assumed they would), and they left me sitting there with nothing at all to eat all Id had was a handful of chips!! Eventually they realised that I did actually want something to eat, and I chose something else off the menu the salmon and salad.

I couldnt eat the salad as it was full of raw onion (which was not listed as an ingredient or I'd have asked them to leave it out) and the dressing was vile. Even the desserts were a huge disappointment: I had the pear frangipane but it was served cold! Something like that should have been served hot. Emma had the lemon meringue and the meringue was practically raw. She didnt like it at all.

After dinner we walked back to Marketplace to the Disney shop so I could collect the gift card. I was not pleased to discover that it had to be used by 17th or wed lose it. I got a Grumpy teeshirt at the shop for Paul but had to pay for Emmas purchases as shed spent the whole $100 cash that I gave her as her share!!
We had trouble trying to find the bus stop to get back to the resort, and Emma was screaming hysterically again: her feet hurt blah blah blah. I told her if shed worn her shoes properly instead of walking on the folded in heels theyd be so much better. She also brought only one pair of Skechers and a 2-year old pair at that.
We were waiting a while at the bus stop for a bus back to the resort, and I eventually let her sit in the scooter to rest her feet at which point the bus finally turned up! I said I should have let her sit in it earlier! The trouble is, 2 days of cold weather, and my knees were hurting again.
It was nearly midnight by the time we got back to our room.
