Cargo Space in an Intermediate Car

I'm not concerned about passenger room in an intermediate car (2 adults and 2 kids) but what about the space in the trunk? Would we be able to fit in 2 full size (30") rolling bags and 2 smaller (25") rolling bags? (not really a big fan of having to do laundry at all, and NEVER while on vacation). This would be an intermediate through National, if that's any help at all. The last 2 times we've used the Emerald Isle we've been lucky enough to snag a full size (at least I guess a Century is a full size?) and an SUV, so we didn't have to put it to the test.

Thanks,

I think you're pushing it with the 30" bags. I used to own a Grand Am, I could fit two 25" bags and a couple smaller, but no way 4 large bags. I rented a Grand Prix (full size) in April with 3 friends and all our luggage would not fit in the trunk (we each had a full size bag and a smaller carryon), we had to put 1 piece in the back seat in the middle. The Impala (full size) I rented in May had a very large trunk. I would go with a full size through Emerald Reserve to be sure.

I don't think you're gonna make it. We had an intermediate with National and ended up with a Mitsubishi Gallant, I believe. We had a had time getting 4 rolling carryon bags(22" each) in the trunk. The boys with us had to keep their backpacks with them in the back of the care.

If the kids don't mind luggage at their feet in the car or between them, I think you might want to rethink the about of luggage or you might want to do the fullsize to be sure you've got room.

We don't mind being a little inconvenienced for the 30 minute ride to/from WDW if the cost savings is great enough as for the rest of the trip you're not driving around with luggage.

You might luck out and find a fullsize or SUV on the EA, but I don't plan on it.

Thanks DebbieB and Snoozan - you've both been really helpful. I think I'll try to change two of the bags to squishy duffle bags so they can sit on the floor under DD or between the kids. As you say Snoozan, at least it's a fairly short car trip to WDW.

I agree with the other comments that 4 hard-sided roller bags won't fit. I think you're on the right track with using duffle bags for some of your luggage because they'll fit in spaces in the car that the other bags won't! We always pack about 1/2 our stuff in duffle bags because it makes loading the trunk and car much more flexible.
