Hi all,
DH is ready for a career change. He has worked in the restaurant business all of his life and is burnt out. He has a lot of talent in graphic design/art. He has a side business where he designs logos and websites. He would like to persue a career in graphic design. He has an associates degree in graphic art but that is it as far as schooling. He has so much talent is sickening to see it not being put to good use. Anywho.....he is having a friend put together a resume for him but we have no idea where to even begin looking for work. He has been out of the loop of job hunting for over 20 years. We would be very willing to relocate to someplace warm by the way. Perhaps "Orlando". he he he Can anyone offer advice on how to begin and how to find a job that will relocate you?

First, tell your DH to prepare a Portfolio along with his resume. He can put the best examples of his work in it to bring along on interviews. It's easier to show the interviewer, rather than tell them!

I have found the Indeed website to be a good search engine. Just pick a city or region, and enter Graphic Design into the search. Indeed will then search the Job Search sites and give you a list.

Also, he can contact the school where he got his Associate and speak with the Career Dept. to see if they can help. Doesn't matter when he graduated, as long as he is an alumni he's eligible. They can help find potential employers and contacts.

Good luck on the job search! :)
