I know this may sound silly, but I had a dream the other night that I arrived at Disney, they gave me my room key and when I went to go use it, they said there was a problem and I couldn't use my food credits. I didn't have enough money and was stuck with no meals for a week.

Has this ever happened to anyone, where they're cards weren't working and they couldn't use their dining plan?

A while ago there were a few people that had problems the first time they used the card. However, I haven't heard of that happening for close to a year now. Those that had the issue went to concierge at their hotel and had the issue fixed immediately.

However, what happened in your dream, hasn't happened. I've never heard of anyone who had an issue like that for the week.

Welcome to the world of strange Disney dreams! I always dream at least once before a trip that I have left my tickets in the safe at home. I have gotten packages for years now, don't know why I still have that dream.

Oh okay, thanks for that info. I guess I'm having these wacky dreams because of how long I've been planning this trip for, and how excited I am. One of the reasons I chose the Deluxe Dining package was because I wanted to have the comfort of knowing that all of my food, for the most part would be already paid for. We will be on some kind of a budget, so the thought of having to come up with an extra $1,500 for food would definitely put a damper on things.

Nothing to do w/ the original post......

But do be sure to budget in tips for all the TS meals that you'll be having on the DxDP..... they can add up quick if you are having 2 or 3 TS meals a day. :goodvibes Having done the DxDP, I know we spent a fair bit on tips & drinks (wine w/ dinner, etc) -- but other than that, it is nice knowing that everything is already paid for.

Oh yeah, for sure. I'm anticipating spending around $500 or $600 just for tips and other meal add ons, like wine, extra kids meal for my two year old. It certainly would've be great if tips were included in the meal plan.

One visit, we checked into the hotel and they were having a "problem" with putting the DP on the KTW card. So, I got a separate card that I was told would have my DP on it and to return tomorrow and they'd fix the problem. Well, off the parks we went. THankfully, the first thing we got was a snack - where instantly the card did not work! Here's DD already snacking away on her ice cream while we're realizing this. Thank goodness I always carry cash (not everywhere takes the KTW card anyhow) and was able to fork over the money.

Once back at the hotel, I gave them my receipt and they gave me my money back. By then, there were able to give me a new KTW card with the DP on it as the computers were fixed.

Oh yeah, at first the CM only took the snacks off the DP and as I was walking away - I realized ok, now I've paid OOP and she took my snack credits. I had really paid double for those snacks! So back in line I went to fix that. Eventually, it all worked out and at least we found out before sitting down a TS dinner. :scared1:

Last year, when we arrived, the computers were down, and they were unable to give us our KTTW with dining credits on it. They did give us cards with our park tickets on them, and told us we would have to pay for our meals and return late with our receipts and they would fix it. We had an ADR, so we went and had our first meal, which I put on my credit card. When we returned to the hotel, I gave them the receipt, they credited it back to my card and took the DDP credits. Worked out fine, but wouldn't have if we hadn't had a back up way to pay for that first meal.
