Car service or ME

We are getting in on Dec 24th at 4pm- What does everyone think- we have used ME with no problems once and only waited 30 minutes for the bus. I am worried that on Christmas Eve it will be crazy and a little worried about the bags as "Santa"will have some toys packed for the next morning in the luggage. We have limited vacation cash but would it be a good investment to take a car and if so which service gets the best reviews and most reliable?

Posters who report "bad" DME service, on heavy travel days, seem to get to their resort in a little over 2 hours. I'd save the money. Does it really matter if you get to your resort at 5:30, 6 or even 6:30?

You get to the DME area and it's a zoo. Passengers complaining about long waits. Consider "sucking it up" and taking a taxi.

As you put it in the form of a question, I would compromise as suggested above. Not locking in an advance investment in a limo (or towncar) service, even though an impulsive last minute change of mind (towncar walkup or taxi) might cost a trifle more.

If ytou are worried about the bags you could leave off the yellow tags and claim the bags yourself even when using Magical Express.

I'm a H-U-G-E cheerleader for Disney's Magical Express. That being said, I'm guessing that December 24 might be an unusually heavy day for traveling. If it were me, I think I'd spring for the car service, just to minimize the potential for huge lines and expected delays just due to the sheer volume of people.

Then again, you'll have long lines and sheer volume of people all week in the parks, so ....
