I'm going to WDW with my 3 month old baby & brother's family the end of August. Her stroller is the Graco Snugride car seat & stroller combo. I have to take her car seat b/c we are renting a car, so it seems easiest to use it as her stroller too.

The problem is that she hates her car seat & it seems really warm. At 3 months old, she has some head control, but not much, so an umbrella stroller won't work for her. Plus, it's something else topack & bring.

Any suggestions?

I would purchase an inexpensive non-umbrella stroller for your trip. I think that to leave her in a car seat type seat would not only make her miserable, uncomfortable and really hot, but you'd have to leave your stroller at ride entrances and stroller parking locations and it would make me uneasy to leave the car seat there as well.

It's so hot that time of year. We traveled with my DS when he was 5 months old in September and I remember wetting down receiving blankets to try to keep him cool. I took a small battery operated fan and attached it to the stroller shade so he could sleep and be "fanned"....I can't imagine having had him in a car seat.

Have a great trip!! :goodvibes

I agree with the pp. The Graco Metrolite has been recommended as a fairly decent lightweight stroller. It is $60 at Target.com but you may be able to find a better deal elsewhere. Something like this BabyTrend lightweight stroller may also work.

when I went with my 2 1/2 month old, we took the car seat and bought the snap n go stroller - very easy, lightweight stroller. I was really happy with it, yes she did get hot a couple days, and we did the whole wiping her down with a wet washcloth thing and used the fan but I don't imagine she would have been any less hot in our regular stroller. we were able to take our car seat in to all the restaurants and just snap it into the high chairs - this was really nice and I can't imagine trying to hold her during all our meals - she wasn't yet old enough to sit in a high chair by herself.

We brought light weight light colored blankets and put them over the car seat when she needed a nap because out sun shade thing didn't cover her all the way.

good luck with your choice!

However, I did just read that if you don't bring your carseat and the baby can't sit up in a highchair, they will let you bring the stroller in - so I guess do whatever is easiest for you!

Thanks for the suggestions. What I decided to do is to rent a stroller from A http://www.abbf.com/index.htmlBaby's Best Friend for while we're at WDW. It lays completely flat, so it will be fine for her and hopefully cooler than her car seat. I'll still have to take the car seat stroller for the airport and for the car ride to WDW, but at least I won't have to use it in the parks.

Now to get a fan for the stroller!

Thanks again
